Chapter 23 – What happens now?
I managed to stab a vampire on the back as I heard a growl coming from him. His fierce eyes turned to me before falling on the floor with a loud thud. By the time, all the other vampires already have their hungry and fearless eyes set on me as they registered what I did.
One ran to me as I ducked before he could grab me and both of my hands made its way to the sides of his head as I turned his head sideways until I heard a crack as he tumbles onto the floor.
Before I could react, a vampire pushed me onto the cold ground as I groaned in pain. She made her way towards me and before she could get a hold on me, I used one of my legs and swiftly tripped her to the ground. When I was getting back up to kill her with my dagger, another vampire beat me to it.
He grabbed me roughly and pulled me off the ground, his hot breath was on my neck and his fangs was just few inches away as I tried to get out of his grip but his grip was too tight. The other one was right in front of me smirking and I kicked him with my feet that send him crashing down to the floor.
The vampire that I had tripped had already stood up and when she was about to punch me on the face, I tilted my head to the side so the vampire who was holding me got the punch. The second he let go of me, I aimed the dagger to his chest and strike. He cursed and clutched his hand to his chest.
My hands were sore and had red hand prints on them but that wasn’t my main concern. One of the vampires tried punching me but missed as I moved away before he did. I used my dagger and tried to stab him but only made a slight cut on his left hand. He then gave me those killer eyes. “You’re going to regret it,” He raged, and there were suddenly him and another vampire running towards me.
I ran in between them and when they almost got a grip, I held both of their heads and collide it together with all the strength I got. Both of them stumble backwards and fell to the floor.
Now it was my turn to smirk.
When I was fighting with the girl who was impressively good, a vampire hit me on my head and I fell onto the ground once more. The worst was when I fell, one of the rocks made a big scratch on my leg as it started bleeding continuously.
Great. Just what I need.
Even so, I still can fight. I let the other leg that is unwounded to push me back up on my feet and even though it was wobbly, I managed to leap on his back. Before I could use my dagger to kill him, he shrugged and pushed me out of his back, causing my dagger to fly right out of my hand and far from reach as I felt the hard floor beneath me. I moaned in pain at my wounded leg.
I’m doomed.
He smiled at me deviously, walking to me slowly as I tried to get back up.
I’m doomed, I’m doomed.
Suddenly out of nowhere, someone came like the lightning and push the vampire down with a great force. I looked at the scene in front of me for a few seconds. There’s a guy fighting on top of a vampire, and it seemed like he was winning. Just one look and I knew who he was – Ash.
What is he doing here? Did he follow me?
Ash finally killed the vampire but another vampire was charging towards him without his knowing. “Ash! Behind you!” I shouted as loud as I could manage, and Ash turned around and let his fangs do the work. I looked at him and never realize he could be this… brutal. I knew in order to save me; he had to, but the weirdest thing was – he was saving a vampire hunter and killing his kind.
