ENJOYYYY!

Chapter 6 – No harm in that

Oh no, he saw me. I was planning if he didn’t see me, I would just walk to school alone, without him. If Aunt Charlotte ever asked me, I would say that he was late, so I went first, but since he already caught me here, I can’t go with my plan. Well, that was a good plan though.

We were just staring at each other, I hurry cut it off and asked coldly, “Are we going? Or do you just want to stand there forever?” He immediately went behind me and we started walking slowly.

“Why are you so distant?” He asked randomly.

I gave him a devilish and cold smile, “I rather not tell.”

“Tell me.” I gave him a small smile. He has no idea what he’s asking for. What would I tell him anyway? A vampire killed my mother? Oh yeah, and because of that, I’m a vampire hunter. Do you want me to show you how to kill one? You’ll get the hang of it.

When I didn’t answer, he repeated again, “Tell me.”

I sighed at his stubbornness. “So what if I did tell you? It’s not like you can do anything about it.”

He walked beside me and said, “Maybe I could help you.” I shook my head, laughing bitterly. He would no way in the world help me even though he even tried. “Maybe now you can’t tell me yet, but time will tell,” Ash stated, and I just shrugged.

If that makes him feel better.

“We should hurry up,” I turn to face him, “We’re going to be late, we better run.” Ash agreed and so we ran. Even though I was a fast runner, Ash was faster than me. I tried to keep up the pace but failed. “Hey, wait up!” I find myself saying.

He turned back and grinned. “Come and catch me.”

Normally, I wouldn’t be so childish and would decline right away, but when he gave me that triumphant smile, like he was going to win, it made this situation seem like a challenge, and oh, how I love challenges.

“Then you might want to run faster, I might catch you,” I said, and he threw his head back laughing.

He was really fast, but because I was a vampire hunter, I was really fast too. We were just an arm’s length. I pushed myself forward, gripped his arm and pulled him back, but before I could say, ‘got you’, something weird happened. I knew he could feel it too.

It felt a tingling sensation through my veins and I could feel it spreading all over my body. It was like sparks, but more intense. It was nice for a while, until I realize that we could read each others’ mind and also talk through our minds, it was like we were connected, and I didn’t like that at all.

I snapped out of it and said through my mind, ‘What are you doing to me?!’  I took in his puzzled face, and somehow I knew that he wasn't doing anything, it’s just happening. I don’t know why, but the whole place was just a blur, the only thing I could see was him.

He was just staring back at me, and I knew he was invading my mind. 'Get out of my mind!’ I snapped.

Then he told me, ‘No, I’m not, it’s just showing by itself, like pictures of you when were little… Wait, there’s something about you. Your past… Dawn, I’m so sorry, your mother died, but why?’

When he wanted to take a closer look, I block the pictures out, ‘don’t look at it!’  The first tear came out, and before I knew it, I was crying. I wanted to stop so badly, you have no idea, I never show any signs of weakness, but I couldn't stop. So many years of building the walls, now it had tumbled down and collapsed.
