Chapter 3 – You got to be kidding me

"Oh, no way!" I exclaimed with wide eyes. This is pretty immature but I don't want to go with him, alone. Do you already know how awkward this is? Plus, I don't like, and don't want to show him around, I'll be busy killing vampires before school starts. How am I supposed to kill with him around?

"There's no need for this kind of trouble, I'll figure out a way on my own," He said and shook his head. Hmm, looks like we're on the same page.

Aunt Charlotte didn't speak for a moment and looked at the both of us. She was completely baffled. "What's wrong with both of you?"

We both looked at each other again and said at the same time, "Nothing!" We gave a look that helplessly says, great, we said the same thing at the same time again.

"Oh come on, Ash. How can you figure it out your own when you don't even know how to get there?" Aunt Charlotte asked, her hand on her hip as she stared at him with one of her eyebrows quirked up.

"Well, I'll somehow get there." Ash said pathetically.

"Come on. It's not like you guys are going on a date or something. Dawn knows the school, and you don't, and you guys are just next door! Why don't you guys just be good neighbors and cooperate? What's the harm in that?" Aunt Charlotte asked in confusion and puzzlement.

You have no idea how hard it is, Aunt Charlotte. You have no idea.

Ash and I were giving messages through our looks. He's looking at me, silently saying, well, what can we do? Then, he mouthed, 'she's a stubborn one.' I still shook my head at him. Well, truth is, I'm a stubborn one too.

"But I'll be walking!" I stated.

"Oh, I bet Ash won't mind, he'll walk too." She said, grinning.

Ash then gave me a look that says, if you're that stubborn then fine, you're going to stay here forever. I was silent for a moment, just looking at him. Well, he does have a good point. Oh, right... I sighed and gave in once more. "Okay, fine. I'll do it, but for the sake of neighbors."

Ash murmured, "And for the sake of Aunt Charlotte."

Even though I don't like talking to anybody, I couldn't help but to agree on that one. "See? Now isn't that good?" Aunt Charlotte clapped her hands together and was looking at both of us happily and merrily.

Isn't that good? It's the best. Note the sarcasm.

"Can I go now?" I asked impatiently.

"Of course, Dawn. Sorry if it's inconvenient for you." She apologized. I sighed again. Well, what could I do about it? All I can do now was just go with the flow and think the best out of it.

"It's fine," I said, waving her off with one hand.

"Well then, I'll show you to the front door." Aunt Charlotte put her small hand on my back and pushed me forward lightly. Ash and I took one more last look at each other before I went.

Great, I knew it'll take more than half an hour. I knew going there was a bad idea. Now I'm going to deal with them tomorrow. But I got to admit, I was quite rude. Oh well, news flash, I don't care. I was already doing a favor by agreeing on guiding him to school and during school.

Finally, revenge time. I smiled devilishly.

I walked down the steep and narrow side walk and turned left to a dark alley. Vampires don't like the sun, they will be weak and they have a hard time seeing. They like the dark. That's why they usually belong to the night.
