Chapter 21 ~ It Isn't Over Yet
Those familiar green eyes surrounded me like a never-ending wall. Each eye holding the same confused emotion. They were Nate's eyes. They were the same shade as mine, but a little darker. He got that from my Mum's side. He was always different to me. We were complete opposites and yet we were best friends. I was his little sister- he's only older than me by a couple of minutes, but still, he was like an older brother. He would protect me against any element of danger, but this time it's my turn to save him.
Whether it was my mind playing tricks on me, or it was just a dream, but when I woke up the eyes were still there, only there were just a single pair staring straight down at me.
"Skye...?" Nate's silky voice spoke, his eyebrows narrowed down in concern as his face hovered above me.
I gazed at him in both wonder and puzzlement before slowly sitting up. My brother's hand helped push me up as it rested on my back and I flinched away.
He still might be on Noah's side...
"Skye, it's okay." My brothers voice comforted me.
Layla suddenly crouched beside Nate. She gave him a small smile before looking at me, a worried look on her face. "You were out for half an hour. Nate was so worried that he thought he'd killed you." She explained, rubbing her hand up and down Nate's back.
"What happened?" I asked blinking hard as my head began to pound. Everything was fuzzy, but I faintly remembered Layla screaming at Nate.
"Well, when you let Nate inside, he used his ability to get into your head, but then I tried to stop him and he suddenly started shaking. You were knocked out before Nate began to remember everything." Layla told me. "After all the memories rushed back to him, Roady used his ability to help. Nate remembers us, Skye." Her eyes were glossy as they filled with tears and I watched one roll down her cheek towards her grinning lips.
I looked at Nate with questioning eyes, and with our telepathic minds- something that twins normally have is to sense what the other is thinking- he knew the question I wanted to ask him.
Is it true?
"I don't really know what happened after I woke up, all I saw was a man in a dark cloak before everything went black. When I suddenly started remembering everything, I thought I killed you. Skye," the corners of his mouth turned down into a frown, but then he shook his head. "I'm so sorry. What kind of a brother am I?"
I placed a hand on his shoulder. "Your the best brother a girl could have, and I cannot begin to express how much I've missed you." I leaned into him and wrapped my arms around him, embracing him in one of the longest hugs I've ever given somebody.
I couldn't help but smile. My lips spread to each ear. I was so happy. I have my big brother back in my arms. Warmth filled me and I felt so relieved. "Nobody will ever tear our family apart again." I whispered into his neck and I felt his arms tighten around me as he hugged me back.

After I had reunited with my brother Dad said that he needed some rest, so Luke and I decided to sit outside in the backyard for a while. Layla was with Nate, which was where I expected her to be. She was sitting next to him as he slept. There was something in her eyes when Nate started to remember, but I couldn't exactly tell what it was.
"So this is it?" Luke asked while picking at the grass blades in front of him.
"What do you mean?" I mimicked his actions and ripped out the weeds around me.
"I mean, your family is back together in one piece. No more plans; nothing."
"Why do you sound so disappointed?" I asked chuckling softly.
He shrugged. "The dangerous adventures were kind of fun."
I laughed and shook my head. "You are weird."
"Whatever." He said rolling his eyes as I playfully punched his arm.
"My family isn't really back together, we still need Mum, but she'll still be in our hearts." I stood up, brushing the grass and dirt off my bum. "And it isn't over yet. There's still more planning to do. We need to reason with Noah and get him to stop trying to create an army against the world. We still have to defeat him."
As I spoke, I realised that the war between us and Noah wasn't over yet. Yes, I had my family back, even though Mum wasn't here with us physically, but there's still more. I knew Noah wouldn't give up so easily without a fight, and I was going to give it to him.
Watch out Noah, because this battle wasn't over yet.
