EPILOGUE

Everything was so perfect. Fireflies glittered throughout the garden, and I was surrounded by a field of lavenders. "It's so beautiful Luke, but why?" I asked him as he stood beside me, his arm wrapped around my waist and he pulled me close.

It had been eight years since any of us have seen Noah or Trent. It had been so long since any of us had even remembered what happened. For the first four years I had nothing but sleepless nights. Whenever I would close my eyes, images of what Noah did to my family would display on my eyelids and I would scream throughout the night, waking up everyone. I try not to remember, and often it would work.

"Do you remember how Nate proposed to Layla?" He looked up at the night sky, which was filled with unadulterated stars.

"Yes, I do. Nate proposed to her at the carnival on the Ferris wheel." I answered, remembering the wonderful memory. Layla came to me screaming while shoving her hand in my face to show off the ring. She said she was the happiest girl on Earth, and I was so proud of her and my brother. My best friend was now my sister; her and Nate only married a few weeks ago but still, she was my sister. She always has been.

"Well, I figured, if Nate can do something as romantic as that, then I should be able to do something better." Luke turned to me and grabbed my hands.

"L - luke, what are you doing?" I raised an eyebrow as he got down on one knee, the corners of his mouth curled into a heart-warming smile.

"Skye Marsden," he began, and my knees weakened. My heart skipped a beat and I felt like I was going to faint right then and there, "will you marry me?"

I felt tears escape my eyes and fall in front of Luke. Was I ready for that kind of commitment? After all I've been through, of all the adventures Luke and I have had together, I already knew the answer. "Yes! Yes I will!" I screamed and Luke stood up. I jumped on him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

I wanted to start a new adventure, a life with the one I loved.
