"Brandon, where are we going?"
"I told you.. It's a surprise."
"Well can you hurry up? I'm starting to get restless."
We had been driving in Brandon's car for the past 30 minutes and just how I was 15 minutes ago, I still had no idea what was going on.
Today was our 3rd year anniversary since when we began dating and Brandon had promised me that he was going to have something special planned for us. After picking me up from my usual Friday shift at work he surprised me with a huge bouquet of beautiful red roses and informed me we were going somewhere nice for dinner. Thank god he managed to bring a bag packed with some clothes for me to change into. Saved us the trip back to my apartment. I did my best to change in the backseat of his small car into this gorgeous elegant black dress that I guess he had just recently bought for me specifically for this occasion. I didn't care if Brandon practically saw me naked. At this point in our relationship we had pretty much seen all of each other. I match the perfect dress with a pair of silver heels I guess he also had bought for me and I was ready to go. I swear this boy spent too much money on me sometimes. I mean he really was only a busboy. After jumping to the front seat and fixing up my hair and makeup on the way over using the pull down mirror we found ourselves parked outside of Cesar's Palace. A valet worker kindly opened up my car door for me and helped me step out by the hand and it's at that moment I see Brandon hand his car keys to a worker on the other side and realize he's having his car valleyed. Brandon comes over all smiles and takes my hand before quickly leading me inside towards the hotel restaurant and says "sorry, we need to make it to reservations."
I smile genuinely surprised at how much thought he put into this date. Brandon never took me to a place as extravagant as this. He could never afford it. Not that it mattered to me anyways. I loved him for him and not what he had in his pockets. He was my absolute everything.
Once we verified we had a table reserved, the hostess at the front ushered us to a lovely table at the corner. The room was absolutely beautiful with crystal chandeliers hanging on different parts of the ceiling and there was even a guy on the piano playing soft entertaining music. No doubt this was the fanciest place I've ever been to. We take a seat with Brandon sitting across the table from me and once the hostess left I took the opportunity to stare at my beloved man. He looked so handsome in his white dress shirt and dress jacket over it. I knew he had to have borrowed it from his dad considering it looked a little big on him, but he was still the most handsome man my eyes have ever laid upon. The way his long hair came down to his neck and curled at the very tips drove me wild. I couldn't wait to take him home with me later.
Dinner came and went fast and we talked about almost everything. It was like we were on our fast date all over again. He kept talking about us and our future and how he prayed this record deal they were currently negotiating on would come through and how once they made it big he would buy us a big house to live in together and how we'd get married one day and start a family in that same house. I smile at his optimistic attitude knowing that as of right now it was only just some fantasy.
We leave the hotel restaurant super full and satisfied with our delicious meal and both agree that was the best food we've ever had. Brandon really was pulling out all the stops today. He must have had to save his whole summer pay checks just for dinner alone. I really was a lucky lady.
Once he got his car back from valet and gave the guy a tip we were back on the road heading down the strip.
"Thank you so much for dinner babe. That was sooo good! And so fancy."
I see him chuckle from the driver's seat, that all American boy smile shining and my heart melts. The amount of butterflies this boy gave me was insane.
