Chapter 27 – Requirement for a Demon Lord: an obedient undead army and a tough general!
"Once the terrible Demon Lord appeared on our defenseless continent, he brought disaster with him with every step he took. Without needing to lift a single finger, the monstrous demonic army following him would simply devastate anything in its path. When he did lift a finger, well, that's when pure despair truly dawned."

When I awoke from a good night's rest, the sun was already shining brightly in the sky, the light passing through my white tent's walls and illuminating its space. Sitting up in my bed, I saw as my long hair slithered down and fell to the white sheets, its silvery color now almost blending with the white if not for its distinctive glow. Even though I had covered all mirrors, it was hard to escape the truth.
Even while I had been obsessed with reaching the light ciel's artifact and hadn't stopped for over a week, the thought hadn't escaped my mind. Every time I clawed my way forward, desperate, I had seen the healthy glow of my hands disappear more and more towards a sickly pale. Somehow, my nails had even grown freakishly long, getting more and more dirt stuck in them.
Yet, something was able distract at me in that moment. Those same hands clenched themselves, pulling the sheets with them, as I grew annoyed. Those idiots... Looks like I need to teach them some manners!

My companions were currently sitting around a fire as they ate their breakfast. It would usually be a peaceful moment of the day, a quiet repose in a lovely forest. However, their eyes kept deviating to the side even as they didn't turn their heads, catching glimpses that made them sit in pure awkward silence, without knowing what to do.
"...Is it really okay to ignore...you know, that?"
"What should we do? They only listen to Ellie. Even if they did listen to me, I honestly don't want to go near those things."
"Hm, but they do pose a problem. I had to travel quite far to catch some pray, as their loud laughter scares off any living creature."
Ezekiel looked mature and thoughtful as he spoke, quite different from how he acted around me.
"Kyahaaha!"
"..."
As my companions heard the laughter that had plagued them, a chill ran down their spine.
"Hm..."
They tried thinking of a solution, but nothing came to mind.
"Can't someone wake up Ellie?"
"But she was so tired... To think that even the strong Ellie could faint..."
"I think Edward already went to bring her a basin of water so she could wash her face. He's still not scared of interrupting her."
"Well, at least if someone dies, it will be him! Guess I will go and solve this issue before Ellie even arrives! Hahaha!"
Magnus seemed to gain some mysterious courage as he got up, walking towards the source of evil laughter, a cape whipping behind his back... Where did he even get that?
"A-Ahh!"
Bam!
As they heard the scream and the thud, their heads snapped towards my tent.
"Was that...?"
"Looks like Edward has finally learned to fear Ellie! Hehe!" Felly giggled as she spoke, not scared herself.
