SECRETHEARTACHE
1. What do you look for in a story?
- Something different. I'm not saying na ayoko sa cliche. There are a lot of stories that I love pero kung titingnan mo ng maigi yung plot, cliche. But there is something different about them, yung kayang magstand out sa dami na ng story na nabasa ko. Yung hindi ko man maalala yung title nakatatak sa'kin yung story and yung character. I'm not particular about genres, mas importante sa'kin na kaya akong dalhin nung writer sa mundo ng story nya.
2. How are you going to judge the entries?
-Pinakamalaking factor sa'kin yung narration. Kung paano ippresent sa'kin ng author yung world na ginagalawan ng characters. Na he/she can make me believe that the story can happen in real life. Tapos yung content, kung gaano sya ka-accurate. Like, ramdam ko na professional na talaga yung character and not some high school student na nagffeeling professional. Lastly, technicalities; yung grammar and stuff. I may be an amateur writer, hindi sikat ang stories ko; but as a reader, I can say that I know what I want in a story. I'll judge a story's merits based on that.
3. Any advice for the contestants?
-Make sure na kaya mong pangatawanan yung sinusulat mo. Sa theme, character, setting and grammar; avoid writing about something you have no idea about. If not, it pays to do a research. And based on experience...stick on the plot na una mong naisip then develop it. Since writing contest ito and may time limit, waste of time and effort ang pagkakaroon ng 5 plots na walang ending. =_= mauubusan ka lang ng time and you'll end up with a rushed story. Yun lang ^_^v...u
