1. What do you look for in a story?
- Ang hinahanap ko sa isang story eh 'yung simple pero may dating. Kumbaga sa kape, masarap 'yung pagkakatimpla. Tama lang. Hindi sobrang pait, hindi sobrang tamis. 'Yung mapapaiyak, mapapasuka at mapapaUMPF ako ng rainbows habang nagbabasa. 'Yung kwentong umpisa pa lang, lalamunin na ko ng imahinasyon ko at maipapasok ko ang sarili ko sa loob ng kwento. 'Yung kwentong maeeksayt akong basahin hanggang sa dulo, hindi 'yung mapipilitan lang akong basahin dahil contest ito at judge ako. 'Yung kwentong pang-contest ang dating, hindi pang-mema pasa lang. 'Yung kwentong kahit "cliche" eh kayang mag-stand out dahil sa uniqueness of narration and delivery. At siyempre, 'yung kwentong may "HEART". (Hindi 'yan acronym. -_-) What I mean is 'yung feelings ng author at ng characters eh mararamdaman ko habang nagbabasa ako. Matatakot ako. Kikiligin ako. Maiinspire ako. Matatawa ako. Maiiyak ako. Mga ganung pakiramdam. (Sorry, shoesiiee at demanding talaga ako. Meyghed. ._.)
2. How are you going to judge the entries?
- Based sa criterias? PFT. Hahahaha. Mayghad. Wala akong maisip na isasagot dito. Pwedeng RAINBOW na lang? Kapag napaiyak, napasuka at napaUMPF niyo ko ng rainbows habang binabasa ko story niyo, perfect na score! Sige, aside from the criterias given, I'll judge based on how I feel the story. Na-explain ko na sa taas so 'wag na ulitin. Sabihan niyo pa ako ng madaldal.
3. Any advice for the contestants?
- Just write what you feel. Write with your heart and mind that works together as one. *leee sings* Char. ._. Kapag kasi nagsulat kayo with heart, everything else follows. The narration and delivery will be splendid. Well, that's how I view it. Don't overthink things. Don't mess up the ideas you have in mind. Always remember that simplicity is beauty with sprinkles of rainbows (HAHAHAHA. Talk about non-sense with small sense. ._.) A story doesn't need to be complicated just to say that it is unique. Yes, at some point pero sa tingin ko kasi kapag ginagawang kumplikado ang kwento, lumalabo ang pinupunto. Mas okay 'yung simple pero direct to the point 'di ba? Kung sa technicalities lang din, pwede naman 'yong pag-aralan. I admit, sabaw-sablay din ako pagdating sa technicalities dati when I started on The Voice of Wattpad pero na-overcome ko 'yun as the time goes by so kung kaya ko, kaya niyo rin! Ang tip lang diyan is, live with it. Kung anong natututunan niyo mula sa mga contest and stuffs when it comes to writing, i-practice niyo rin sa daily conversation. Practice makes people remember what they've learned. Kung emotions naman sa story, just like what I've typed earlier, dapat namnamin mo 'yung story na ginagawa mo. Make yourself feel na ikaw ang character para ma-deliver mo ng maayos. And lastly, read again and again and again and again your work before submitting it. 'Yun ang pinakamalupit na bala ng isang contestant sa isang contest. Kumbaga sa singing or dancing contest, 'yun na ang pagpapractice niyo. Read it aloud if possible. That way, makikita mo ang mga mali mo when it comes to technical side at kung may hindi ka magustuhan, maeedit mo. Matrabaho pero effective. Proven and tested. Trust me. (Napaghahalataang mukhang contest. ._.) Hahahahaha. Saka ito 'yung way para maiwasan ang frustrations kapag nagpapasa ng entry sa contest. TAMA o TAMA?
