Shelagh bolted upright in her bed, sweating and sobbing inconsolably. Patrick stirred next to her hearing the whimpering coming from his wife. ''Good morning my love-- Shelagh? what happened?'' Patrick said wearily, once he noticed her panic he became concerned, sitting up and looking into her blue distressed eyes, It helped to hear her husband say her name, as if it was validation that it was a nightmare, just her hormonal mind putting her in the scariest situations. she nodded her breath shaky and her cheeks wet with tears, ''I just- had a nightmare...'' she muttered sniffling and reaching for her glasses, Patrick exhaled in relief good, she wasn't hurt at least...
''what happened in it...?" he asked cautiously so as not to upset her,
''I was a nun still and I was trapped at Linchmere and you were gone and I was chained down for Electric shock therapy and--'' Seeing that his wife was growing more upset by the second, Patrick took her in his arms rubbing her back comfortingly. Shelagh pushed away and stood up shakily, running to the crib at the end of the room where her daughter would be... She gasped, the cot was empty. Patrick stood up and peered into the cradle, Shelagh stumbled into the hallway and pushed open the door to Angela's room, her bed was empty and her sheets all over her room
''Patrick!'' she called, there was no way that somebody took the children in the night, the house was totally safe... or so they thought. her husband ran into the room stopping in his tracks at the sight of the messy room ''Jesus... check on Tim.'' he muttered running out of the room and searching the rest of the house, Shelagh couldn't speak - the initial shock of the nightmare had died down now this? She ran down the hallway and opened Timothy's bedroom door, what she saw was so heart wrenching she clapped her hand to her mouth. Shelagh stepped out of the room to see Patrick at the end, he shook his head, defeated. His wife beckoned to him to come, when he entered his son's room he hugged his wife in relief, What the parents were looking at was their oldest child, asleep in the middle of a nest of blankets, pillows and cushions, children's books strewn around the room. the two girls wrapped around their big brother. the two grown ups sighed in relief. Shelagh knelt next to the children kissing Angela's forehead, brushing the hair out of Timothy's face. his eyes fluttered open, smiling slightly at the sight of his sisters snuggled together.
''Tim, you gave us a terrible fright!'' Shelagh whispered humorously, picking up the baby to feed
''Sorry, I wanted to let you guys have a lie in so I got the girls to sleep in my room so they woke me before you.'' the young boy confessed, Shelagh and Patrick shared a sort of 'Damm!' glance.
''That was very grown up of you Timothy. thank you.'' Patrick smiled stepping forwards.
''Can we get some breakfast? I'm starving'' Tim assumed a hopeful look ''Pancakes?'' Shelagh laughed nodding her head. for one shining moment it seemed like they were a perfect family though that was far from the truth.Sort of out of place chapter but we're only Six chapters in and we already need some comic relief! Sorry but I just wanted a cute Tim appreciation chapter ;~; Don't lie you got a bit worried for the little ones didn't ya? Don't worry it's too soon in the fic for an insane child disaster ;-] ~B
