Trixie lay on her bed, a tissue in one hand and a cigarette in the other, Patsy sat across from her friend thinking of what to say.
"Trixie she'll be okay." Patsy said softly, Trixie shook her head and put the cigarette to her lips, inhaling and waiting, then exhaling heavily.
"The survival chances are low. There's no hope." Trixie replied, Patsy pursed her lips thinking.
"Well I'd rather low than zero." She said semi enthusiastically. Trixie sat up and shrugged, sighing shakily.
"I suppose." She said offering her cigarette to Patsy who accepted, twiddling it in her fingers for a while.
"How do you expect Doctor Turner is doing?" She asked lifting it up to her lips and taking a puff. Trixie sighed and shrugged lightly.
"Badly. Did you see him this morning? He's getting gray hair" She said, Patsy nodded. Trixie wiped her tears and sighed at the bottles of alcohol on the unit behind Patsy.
"You're not falling in love with me are yo- no, you're not. Trixe you're doing so well and Shelagh wouldn't want you to end that!" She said standing up and putting the bottles away in a cabinet, she sat back down beside Trixie and squeezed her hand.
"She'll be okay." Patsy said reassuringly. Trixie shook her head slightly, wiping her tears on the mascara stained tissue in her other hand.
"This reminds me of when my father was ill, never really knowing if he'd live. She's like a mother to me and now I might lose her too..." She sobbed, Patsy sighed and hugged her friend tightly.
"I know how that feels. But we can't let her see our hurting. We have to smile." Patsy said warmly, Trixie shook her head.
"That's what my mother would tell me..." She sobbed, Patsy sighed to herself.
"I'm sorry. I suppose I'm not exactly tell greatest at this sort of thing." She told her friend, Trixie nodded chuckling a bit, Patsy smiled and rubbed away a tear track with her thumb, kissing her friend's forehead,
"That's the girl." Patsy said reassuringly.
Trixie smiled sadly and hugged Patsy tight.
