Bedtime
The children were sleeping and it was just the two Turner parents awake in the silent house.
"Shelagh, you know I love you. And you know I'm here for you." Patrick started slowly, Shelagh cleared her throat uncomfortably
"Patrick, you know I love you too. But please don't do this..." She whispered, Patrick put his hands on hers, she pulled away placing her finger tips on her temples,
''We both know what's happening, you even more so'' her husband told her in his softest voice
''Patrick...'' Shelagh begged,
''You have little to no energy even when you get a perfect nights rest, You've been crying when you think no one sees you, You get agitated faster than normal, you aren't eating and you constantly zone out you also take longer to make decisions. And I think we both know what these symptoms mean after having a baby'' Patrick said with a serious tone, Shelagh put her head in her hands sighing heavily. She was just as stubborn as her husband when it came to admitting she had an illness,
''Please don't...'' She muttered, Patrick felt guilty that he was doing this to her but she wouldn't admit it on her own...
''You have postnatal depression, and ignoring it won't do a thing for your health.'' He said calmly, Shelagh inhaled sharply at the mention of her condition, Patrick took his wife's face gently in his hand and directed it so she was looking at him.
''When did you last talk to anyone outside our family?'' he asked looking into her beautiful blue eyes through her glasses
''When Beatrix had just been born...'' Shelagh whispered quietly. Patrick sat backwards in his chair, exhaling heavily
''Shelagh that was a week and a half ago!'' he whispered a little too harshly. Shelagh bit her lip to stop it from wobbling, Patrick sighed.
"come on, let's go to sleep." He told his wife taking her hand and walking her to their room. Once they lay down Patrick wrapped his arms around his wife's waist, it was always comforting to know he was there.
