When Shelagh woke up she groaned in pain as the sunlight shone through a crack in the curtains. She had never experienced such a terrible headache in her life, Patrick had tucked her in wearing the same clothes she had worn to the club and the strong smell of alcohol made her gag slightly as she sat up. When she looked into the mirror on the vanity it was a hot mess, her hair falling out of it's do, the make up Trixie had applied was smudged and some of the red lipstick was wiped onto her chin and the cigarette smoke clung to her clothes, the smell made her feel uncomfortable, it wasn't the smell she was used to, wasn't the brand she was used to, it wasn't the brand her husband used and it made her feel guilty. Shelagh swung her legs over the side of the bed and sat up, almost instantly falling back down. She groaned rubbing her head trying to soothe the pain. Almost perfectly timed, a loud knock on the door caused her to flop back down onto the bed. Shelagh couldn't think who would be knocking on the door at-- whatever-o-clock. She stood back up and walked- somewhat drunkenly to the door. when she opened it Patsy smiled
"
Morning! I brought some aspirin for the headache.'' She whispered pushing gently past Shelagh and walking into the kitchen and filling up the kettle.
''Where do you keep your teabags?'' She asked bustling around the kitchen collecting the different ingredients for tea and hunting for some bourbons. Shelagh scrunched her eyes up and leant against the counter, trying to process what was happening.
"You're... chpper...'' Shelagh sighed shaking her head, confused. Patsy stopped and grinned.
''I usually am. I have to say it drives Trixie up the wall in the mornings.'' She told Shelagh pouring the hot water from the kettle into a tea cup and throwing in the tea bag nonchalantly, stirring it and pouring an excessive amount of condensed milk into the cup.
''I have some plain milk in the fridge...'' Shelagh reminded her friend, Patsy stopped and shook her head.
''No, It's a hangover cure I came up with. You make some tea with condensed milk and take an aspirin with it and a few hours later your headache is gone!'' She replied handing the hot mug over and walking back into the sitting room. Shelagh was exasperated, how was Patsy so lively? Patsy DID have more experience drinking, she thought as she followed her friend sitting next to her on the sofa.
'
'How are you feeling today?'' Patsy asked gesturing to Shelagh to take a sip of the warm drink. Upon drinking it Shelagh found it to be quite enjoyable, unfortunately she had never been good at swallowing pills.
''Take a wild guess based on my appearance." Shelagh sighed taking the pill and trying not to throw up.
