Sammy's POV
"So, need a lift?" Jason smiled from the front seat of a vampire car.
"You're my ride? And when did you become a blood sucker, Jason. I thought you were just a rapist."
"When I saved the head Vamps life. And I've sorted my self out, Sam. I'm clean, promise" The fact that he was still hot made me trust him, so I got in next to him.
"How did you save her? The Founder, I mean" I asked as we started to wherever I was supposed to be.
"Stopped this creature called the Draug. Wasn't the only one, Claire helped but wanted to be human. I've always wanted to be a Vampire, ever since I was old enough to understand." he explained.
"Why? No sun, no real relationships with someone other than another leech. And you're a predator now, Jase. You're designed to kill people!"
"And I wasn't before? Sam, I am the happiest I've ever been as a Vampire, I haven't killed, I haven't attacked anyone, not after the first month or so. I'm a better person now." The sincere look in his eye made me believe that he was honestly a different person, but I still couldn't help but think about the damaged kid he used to be and how he tried to hurt me.
"So." I said after a few minutes of awkward silence.
"So what?" The P!nk song So What came to mind but I surpressed the urge to start singing it.
"What have you been up to? I haven't seen you since..."
"Since I attacked you? Yeah, I got jailed for a bit, got out on bail, fucked around for a few years, got turned. Now I'm working as night porter at the University. You?"
"Got through high school, got accepted to TPU, nearly killed my parents, found out Vampires existed and now my best friend is in a coma and wakes up for long enough to cough up 2 pints of blood. Other than that, I'm now working for the head Vamp." I listed, missing out the adopted part. Only Amelie knew about that.
"Ouch. You know that it's voluntary right? She can't make you work for her" Jason pointed out as we turned a corner. Where we were though, I had no clue. The tinting on the window was darker than the limos.
"I know. But she could have made me if I didn't say yes." I held up the wrist with the Protection on it.
"Wow, Amelie kind of owns you then. Wait, does that thing have Myrnins initials on there too?" he laughed catching my wrist.
"Hey, eyes on the road, Mr Irresponsible Driver. And yeah, I'm double property of Amelie Bishop and Myrnin Conwy. Until I find out how to get it off, anyway." I sighed as we stopped somewhere and Jase killed the engine.
"Good luck with that. Those things don't come off unless your Patrons want it to. Or you chew off your hand, your choice. I'll be waiting back here for you at 4, have fun with the Ice-Queen, Sam"
I got put of the car and watched Jason drive off down the street. The meeting place was a large old house that was identicle to the Glass house. It was next to an alley way that just screamed stay out. I walked up the cracked path and knocked on the door.
No reply, so I used my initiative, and climbed through a window. "Hello? Amelie?" I shouted, landing hard on my butt. I wandered around the house and discovered that the layout was also identicle to Michael and Eve's.
"Please tell me I have not just been trolled by some 2000 year old Vampire. That would just be too much" I sighed, heading to he kitchen.
"I am not quite that old, Samantha. This was a test to see what you would do if your curiosity was present. You have most assuredly passed. Please, sit" The Founder said, still kind of hazy in the low lighting.
"Where? I can't see!" I heard a slight whoosh and suddenly someone was leading me to chair opposite my new boss.
"Better?" I could tell she was amused, but I couldn't make out the features on her face very well.
"Much. So, why creepy Glass House replica and not a museum or something?" I asked, trying to make my eyes adjust.
"Privacy. And I would rather go through belongings of people in a house under my sign, safer that way. How is Miss Rosser?"
"Better, I think. She's conscious for more than 2 minutes at a time, but she wakes up screaming from nightmares. And she still has a problem with keeping blood in her veins and not the toilet."
"Good, I would rather someone also wearing my sign did not die because of it. What do you know of the Reniessonce? "
We spent the next 4 hours working in the dull lighting. I could barely see anything, let alone know which pile to put it in, so she allowed me the use of my phone, so long as it was just for light purposes. Then Myrnin arrived.
"Good afternoon, Ma'am. Samantha" he gave me a slight nod. "Dear me, it's rather dark in here isn't it?" the he turned the light on. The room was identicle to the Glass House kitchen, as I'd thought, but that isn't what surprised me. It was the Founder. She was the White Woman from my dream, her hair was a silvery white, not much darker than her skin and her eye's were a stormy grey.
"You!" I blurted, then put my hand over my mouth.
"Thank you very much, Myrnin. I see you worked out the real reason I brought her here" the Founder growled, her eye's flashing red.
"Indeed I did, as well as the purpose of Arianna. Oliver is with her at the moment. It seems the both slightly broke throught the conditioning. Have you seen her drawings?" he threw one of my sketch pads at her and Amelie caught it easily and flicked through. Her face went paler, if that was possible.
"How did you know?" she murmured, looking at one of her with fangs bared and red eyes blazing.
"Super human strength, incredibly aggressive, reactions to our blood inside the bracelets, Aria more than your Samantha, obviously. And she has your eyes"
"Anyone want to tell me what's going on? Who has her eyes? And what does coffee Vamp have to do with this?" i demanded, snatching my sketch book out of her hands. Amelie smiled slightly at coffee Vamp, but Myrnin stayed upright and formal.
"We should have predicted that neither of the girls would be typical humans. And what with Aria's mother and this ones father... You should have kept them in Morganville, Amelie" he said, taking it from me and looking himself. I growled and tried to get it back but he moved effortlessly out of the way.
"What do you know of my birth parents, Batty McCrackula? And give me my sketch book!" I jumped at him and kicked him to he ground. Amelie just stared at me, her eyes wide and shock filled.
"Are you aware, Miss Collins, of the fact that I am one of the oldest Vampires around? So how, did a girl of 17 manage to just knock me to the ground if you were simply kicking open a door?"
"I've always been strong and fast, but so has Aria. Now tell me what's going on!"
Amelie cleared her thoat, her porcaline face worried. "Samantha, I'm your mother."
