Sammy's POV
When I got up in the morning, I had to think where I was for a moment. Then I remembered.
Morganville, being kicked out, moving in with Amelie. And that we both wanted to to get to know each other.
I tiptoed out of my room and into the bathroom, not wanting to wake her if she was still here. I forgot how cold this room was and quickly got into the shower, letting the hot water wake me up.
"Samantha, I'm needed in Founders Square, I'll be back tonight" Mom called, knocking on the door.
"Hang on a sec" I said, wrapping one of the black towels around myself and opening the door. "Um, I might be a bit late, I missed my date last night so I'm going today."
Her perfect white eyebrows rose. "Jason Rosser, I presume? I would have thought with your history together that you would have steered clear. But Jason has matured since Oliver turned him and I think you make a good match"
"Um, yeah, I think so too. See you tonight, have a good day, mom." i smiled, walking across the hall to my room.
"You too Samantha" she smiled slightly. Then walked down the stairs leaving me staring at her outfit. A moderately dark purple pant suit with an amethyst bracelet and matching necklace and earrings. It looked like something I would wear to a wedding or something.
Half way through getting dressed, my stomach growled. "Really? When do I ever eat breakfast?" I muttered, walking barefoot down the stairs to the kitchen. There was a note saying that cereals were in the cupboard under the microwave and bread in the bin.
Amelie was definitely getting used to being a mom as she even signed the note, Mum.
"I officially love your assisstant, mom, she bought nutella!" I laughed, finding the jar in the fridge. I made up a round of toast and a coffee, surprised at the different types she had. Well, her boyfriend is The Coffee King of Morganville.
Once I finished the first lot, I ended up making another round and then a third. For some reason I was seriously hungry today.
I made to go back upstairs, but suddenly the front door burst open and Oliver came in. And he looked pretty pissed. I hid quickly in the cupboard under the stairs, hoping he wouldn't see, smell or hear me.
"Amelie? Amelie, are you here?"he shouted, running up the steps, dust raining down on me. Making me sneeze.
"Aaichoo!" The footsteps above me froze, then retreated. I panicked, trying to hide behind some canvases, but soon the door was ripped open and Oliver wrenched me out.
"Who are you and what are- Samantha." he started, then stopped when he saw my purple and orange hair. "So you are Amelies daughter."
"Um, yeah. How did you work it out?" I asked, pulling my arm out of his vice like grasp.
"Arianna told me by accident. I presume you also know that I am her father?"
"That I do, Baron Barista. Now, can I help with whatever you wanted my mom for or is it something private?" I smiled slyly, winking at him.
"You have definitely grown up in Shanes family, that is for sure. And no, just tell her I'm coming over later. You have nutella on your chin by the way." he pointed to the smear and I wiped it away quickly, my cheeks turning scarlet.
"Will do. Thanks for freaking me out and bruising my arm, step-father. Can I go finish getting ready or is Pennyfeather going to be dropping in as well?" I didn't get an answer, just a glare as he walked back out, slamming the door behind him.
