Aria's POV.

I knew something was wrong. I'd tossed and turned all through the early morning, unable to sleep; but finally, once I did, horific dreams plagued me. I saw a blond woman stabbing Sammy, then the woman was burning and Sammy was gone.

I shot up, suddenly awake - breathing heavily and... My Dad was sat next to me...? His face paler than usual and his posture was slumped, as if he was extremely tired. He licked his lips and carefully took my hand and held it; the coldness made me slightly shiver, but it was bearable.

"Dad?" My voice came out slightly horse, "What's wrong?" His eyes closed as he sighed, then lowered his head.

"It's you're friend." I frowned, "Samantha. Amelie's Daughter." My breath hitched as the dream suddenly played out in my head, and all I could see was Sammy being stabbed and collapsing.

"W-what about her?" I stuttered, suddenly feeling as if I'd lost a limb, or part of my heart. My Dad still hadn't said anything, making me tremble and slightly worried. "Dad!" I shouted.

He sighed again, "Please, please don't do anything irational once I tell you this...Samantha is dead..."

Dead...Dead ...Samantha is Dead...

The words echoed around my head not meaning anything - not sinking in, until, until I realised what it meant; Dead. Tears suddenly stung in my eyes, and anger pulsed through my veins making me rip my hand out of my Father's grip and throw the covers off my body, jump out of bed, then grab my coat that was next to the side of the bed.

"I'm not letting you leave in this state." Dad said, making me turn and see that he was stood infront of the door that lead to the hallway. "Your still weak from not feeding."

My breathing was still rapid, and although the anger raced around my body, it was only that, that I could feel; Nothing but anger. I could feel my eyes blaze to life and my fangs slip out, "You want me to feed?! Give me a blood bag! Right now, Dad!"

His eyes chillingly slowly turned white. "You. Are. Not. Going. Anywhere. Arianna."

"My friend is dead, and yet you refuse to let me out of my room, like your my keeper or something. Why?"

"Before your friend departed, she informed Lady Grey of your little affair with Myrnin."

"AFFAIR?!" My voice came out high pitched. "HE CAME ONTO ME FIRST!"

Dad's face went emotionless, but his eyes continued to gain an eerie glow. "Do you think that honestly matters? Jane Grey has escaped death more than once, Arianna, and you've just watlzed in and broken her relationship with the crazed madman himself." He looked as if he wanted to kill, but stayed where he was. "Do you think she won't want your head?"

At that, I cracked up, unable to control the laughter, "I see what you did there." His cocked eyebrow clearly told me he wasn't meaning it as a joke. "You know how they wanted her head when she was queen...it was a pun...?" His eye's blazed an unholy colour of red. "You weren't kidding around were you?" My laughter quickly dried up.

"Ana, please." His eyes faded back into the normal muddy brown, "How do you expect me to protect you from somebody that's escaped death more than once?"

Coldness filled my veins, "I expect you to want to protect me - Key word; Want." I frowned."Clearly you don't if you've seriously just asked me that!" The memorie of my Mom's boyfriend practically raising me, and how he told me millions of times how he thought of me as a daughter, and that he'd die for me and my Mom.

"Arianna, this is still so new to me."

I snapped out of my trance. and looked anywhere but directly at him. "Let me leave, please."
