Sammy's POV
When Aria stormed out of the dorm, I had a choice. Rip appart my bedding, or punch a hole in the wall. I went for the cheaper option of bedding.
I screamed out of frustration and pain, mourning my oldest friendship. But at least she didn't try to kill me with that awesome blade.
I grabbed my phone and got my contacts up. There at the top; Amelie Bishop. I hit call and waited.
Ring ring, ring ring. "Hello? Samantha?" my mom answered, sounding confused. I'd ended up running out on her after the confrontation with Myrnin, but she had said if I ever needed anything just call her. So Aria was half right, she did still care.
"I need a place to stay. Aria kicked me out." I sobbed, my mouth feeling full and then I realised it was because I'd grown fangs.
"Are you there now? Stay where you are, I'm on my way" and then I heard the click of her hanging up. I curled into a ball by my bed, the sheets around me. I still had fangs out, but I had no idea how to get rid of them.
10 minutes later, there was a knock at the door, but by the time I had even gotten to my feet, Amelie had already opened it and was in the room.
"Is knocking just a way to announce you presence or something?" I asked dumbly, my voice hoarse and the fangs made it awkward to talk.
"I don't do the knocking, I have people to do that for me." It was probably true, but there was a ghost of a smile on my mothers face as she said it. "Want to explain what happened?"
Amelie sat delicately on the edge of the bed and indicated for me to sit next to her. I caught sight of her usual entourage sneaking in and taking up defensive positions around my room. Aria's room.
"I came back in while she was here. I hadn't really spoken to her since I found out, but I didn't think Aria had taken it that badly. She said that if she saw me again she'd kill me." I managed, hoping I was understandable.
Amelie stayed perfectly still for a moment, a cool and regal as a statue. The she put an arm around my shoulder. "Pack your things, just the necessities for now, I will have my assistant arrange for the rest to be collected later."
I looked at her blankly. "Why, where am I going?"
"I may have been an absentee mother, but that doesn't mean I didn't think about you every day we were separated, Samantha Rose Collins. You're staying with me" she said, cupping my chin in her small, cold white hand.
"Why? Why did you send me away in the first place if you cared about me so much?"
This made her think, but she answered "I'm not the type of person you deserved growing up. I would have been constantly putting you in danger, both from me and from the others of my kind kind. Our kind"
"You'd have done better than the people who did raise me. They beat me on a daily basis. I have the scars to prove it!" I lifted up the front of my black long sleeve top to show her the belt marks that would never leave. Then I showed her the burns on my arms.
Amelie's face contorted with pain as she saw them and I could see she truly did care. "I am so sorry. I had, I had no idea that they would do that to you. I just wanted the best for you"
"Yeah. Well you obviously don't don't know how much the Collins family are abusive jerks. Shane is probably the only exception" I shrugged, tugging my top down and sitting back next to her.
"After everything that boy has been through, it's a miracle he didn't turn out like his father or uncle. Now, get packing"
I grabbed my Violet Cute zip it back and stuffed it with my sketch books, pens, pencils and all of my books, the my overnight bag and filled it with the clothes I would need and my toiletries. I paused by my pillow, then grabbed the daggar I kept under it.
