Lucy's PoV
I woke up early, before the sun had began to raise or the morning paper arrived at our doorstep. I turned on my phone light and got dressed, brushed my teeth and wrote a small letter for my mother. Anything I wanted to say to anyone else had already been said. The note I wrote said everything I wanted to say. Even if I wrote songs, I wasn't very good at using my words, unless it was with music. It was my way of communicating, and now I was letting it go.
I heard a car roll up from outside and suspected it was my father, so I got my bags and guitar case, opening my window. Our apartment had fire escapes on the bedroom windows, handy when I sneak out with my friends some times. I throw my bags through first then jump through myself, closing the window behind me. As I drop to the floor, after doing the same with my bags down to the driver, him putting them in the car, I see a flash of pink at the entrance of my apartment building. I motion to the car to drive down the street a little and it did so. Zeref must trust me a lot. I thought, scoffing as I stroll over.
As suspected, I see Natsu in the archway, his hair yet from the rain chucking down around us. He seemed panicked for some reason, sitting with his back leaning against the brick wall of the exterior of the building. "Hey their stranger." I smile, pretending everything is alright, making his head jerk up. His drenched hair stuck to his face, his eyes red, he looked out of breath. His red jumper was soaked through, as if he had just jumped in a lake. There was something wrong, and I didn't have to know him my entire life to realise. "What war did you go through?" I chuckled, he jumped up, realising he was wet to the bone, he tried ringing his shirt, but to no avail. My hands were behind my bag, clutching my phone. I was wearing a jumper, so I was also freezing. "Luce, why didn't you pick up my calls!? I thought something happened to you." He panicked gripping my arms as if I would escape if he didn't. "What are you talking about? I haven't had any... Oh, sorry." I looked down at my phone and saw the ten calls, close to fifty texts, and five voice mails. I was a little embarrassed, but how did he get my number. "I was so worried. Please tell me Zeref hasn't done anything to you." he almost sounded chocked up, obviously knowing something I don't. "Natsu, what's getting into you. Are you sick?" I went to put my hand on his forehead, but he grasped it. "Luce, don't you get it? I remember! I remember everything!" He shook me, making me freeze. Not because of the cold or all the problems I'll have to face when I leave this place, but those words. Something I'd never expect to hear from his lips. "Wh-Wha..?" I muttered, not believing what I knew I heard. "I remember you, Pretty Brown Eyes. Everything about you." He finally smiled, my face frozen in shock as he stared into my eyes. The grip on my arms got tighter as he pulled me in, and I felt something surprising warm on my lips. My eyes grew wide and one hand clutched at my chest, the other behind me, holding my phone. Natsu's eyes were screwed shut, his nails now almost digging into my arms. Feelings too comfortable and too happy about this, I closed my eyes as well, leaning back on his.
After what felt like a millennia, I pulled back. I couldn't start a relationship with him, especially not now. I wasn't completely over the betrayal from Sting, and I would never see him again. Zeref would make sure we would never meet, even if it meant locking the both of us. He would use his ties to incriminate Natsu or hurt him, even his family. The man, biologically known as my father, was heartless. He didn't care who cared about who, or what kind of person they had standing behind his targets. All he cared about was power. And if he found out about Natsu, he would have all power over me.
Natsu's eyes were wide, either he didn't expect himself to do that, or he didn't expect me to pull back. Tears quickly grew in my eyes, and I put my hands on his shoulders. "I'm going on a little trip with the girls. I won't be back for a bit. But, I'll see you when we get back. You'll wait for me, right?" I asked hopefully, his arms snaking around my hips. I loved the warmth he emitted even in the cold, saddest times, it was one of his many charms that put me under a spell. He smiled down at me. "You waited for me. I guess I could suffer a little longer." He smirked and I kissed his cheek, hugging tightly around his neck before I let go.
Natsu's PoV
The street lights were still on, and the time was five in the morning. I watched Luce go down the steps and got into the tinted windowed car that pulled up, not looking back at me as I dreamed of when she would come back. Her sparkling blonde hair was wet, every water droplet made her more beautiful as she opened the car door. Her soft hands that graced the car's door frame and roof as she got in, and then, finally, it was closed. My whole world become darker, just as lonely as I was before. It was her who lit up my world, but I used other girls to try and fill her place. From this instant, I vowed to never love another girl, no matter how long I would have to wait.
