"Mitchell!"

I cringed.

"Yes, Mrs. Willows?"

"Come here."

My body shot up on its own, my legs leading me down the stairs before I could even think about replying.

Mrs. Willows smiled as I came into view.

"I'm going to need you to show the new one how things roll around here. Scott, this is Mitch. Y'all are both the same age! He's been here the longest, you can trust him to show you want to do." She softly pushed a blonde boy foreword.

The boy scratched his head and pushed his glasses up his nose.

"Hi."

"Hey." I looked him over. He dressed shaggy.

"My parents didn't want me anymore."

"Mine never did." I replied. This was so awkward.

"I'm thirteen."

"Me too."

"Can you tell me where to put my stuff?" I really had no choice.

"Up the stairs to the left. You're bunking with KO."

"Who's K.O.?"

"You'll find out."

four years later

It was very clear that Scott's entrance into the house was the best thing that ever happened to me. We bonded immediately, and have thousands of memories under our belt. And it's hasn't all been easy, but he's certainly made it easier. He never took advantage of what I was, though he knew exactly how to. Scott was the one that brought me out of my shell. He taught me how to trust myself and others.

He was also the first crush I've ever had.

"K.O.? Is it possible to clean the mirrors without beat boxing?"

Kevin sprayed more of the cleaner onto the mirror, backing it up with a beat and ignoring my comment.

"So vivacious." I joked.

"Hey! I know that song! Scott wrote that!" Kirstin popped out of her room.

Kevin laughed. "We were working on it last night."

I began to hum along as Kevin started again, grabbing my broom and sweeping.

"I see, so clearly, why I'm always feeling free..." Kirstin sang, kissing me on the cheek as she made her way to another window.

"So, I'll sleep when my dreams are looking like reality." I joined in as she harmonized.

"Got me feeling like!" Scott jumped into the hallway dramatically, starting the next verse. We all broke into song simultaneously.

"NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA." I could hear Avriel's deep laughter from his room of solitude.

Still screaming at the top of my lungs, I abandoned my broom and beckoned the three to Avriel's room, laughing.

I pushed open the door. "GOT ME FEELIN' LIKE-"

"Oh, please not this again." Avriel smiled, pretending to be annoyed.
