Setting Priorities

For the next few days, Jonah applied to as many programs as he could. He even looked at programs in Europe; however, those programs were extremely difficult to get into. He made sure that he submitted his best paintings.

He was still a bit frightened about getting separated from everything he's so close to, but Aria did manage to calm him down a bit.

Ever since he kissed Aria, he can't stop thinking about it. He regretted saying sorry after he kissed her because he wasn't sorry. He wanted to keep kissing her over and over again. He wanted her. He needed her. But he didn't think that Aria wanted him in that way.

"Hey Jonah. I'm going out to buy some stuff, is there anything that you need?" Jonah's dad asked.

"No not really. If I end up needing anything, I'll just call you and let you know." Jonah said with a smile.

Jonah's dad left and Jonah went back to applying for programs.

Jonah's mom came in just to check up on Jonah and smiled. She felt so lucky to have a boy like Jonah. She knew it was partially her fault that Jonah will be leaving soon again, but it was for his future, and she knew that he won't ever leave her behind.

A couple of weeks later, Jonah and Aria finally finished applying to all the programs that could apply to, and finally had time to relax.

They both decided to go the park. When they got there, there were kids playing tag, so Jonah and Aria decided to join and make it a bit different.

"Hey kids! Come over here, and listen to my friend, Jonah." Aria yelled out. All the listened to her without question and listened to Aria.

"Hey guys. I've got an idea. Why don't we play tag, but a different version of it. In this version, if you get tagged you have to keep dancing, until someone that hasn't been tagged tags you. If you don't keep dancing, then you're out. It's sort of like freeze tag, but this is dance tag. What do you say little ones?" Jonah said with a smile.

"YAYYY." The kids screamed out.

"You're it." Jonah said while tagging a little boy.

Everyone started running as fast as they could. Jonah and Aria made sure to not run too fast. They were enjoying dance tag very much.

"You're it." A little girl tagged Aria. Jonah was right beside her, but he didn't help her out. Instead he ran away, so that the girl couldn't catch him, and then he came back to see Aria dance.

He couldn't take his eyes off of her. She wasn't much of a dancer, but whatever she was doing, she was doing it well.

"Like what you see?" Aria said with a smirk.

"Very much, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to make you stop dancing. Don't want the little children's eyes to be tortured." Jonah said with a chuckle.

"Hello." Aria said, picking up her phone.

"You and Jonah got some letters from some of the programs you applied to." Aria's mom said.

"We'll be there as soon as possible." Aria replied quickly.

"We've got to go to home." Aria told Jonah.

"Bye kids!" Jonah yelled out while trying to catch up with Aria.

"Bye Aria and Jonah!" The kids replied.

"What happened?" Jonah asked Aria.

"We gotten letters." Aria breathed out.

"Already!?" Jonah asked.

"I guess they accept or reject people really quickly. I kind of hope it's all the letters because I really don't want to wait for all of them." Aria sighed.

"Yea I agree." Jonah replied. They walked home as fast they could, and there parents greeted them with a warm smile.

"Here are your letters." Jonah's mom handed the letters to Jonah and Aria. They looked through the letters, and noticed that they were from all of the programs they applied to.

"Texas?" Aria asked. They both opened the letter of the program that they applied to in Texas.

"Yes." They both said together.

"Washington?" Jonah asked.

"Yes." They both said again.

"New York?" Aria asked.

"No." Jonah said sadly.

"Yes." Aria said at the exact same time.

"It's okay. Let's keep going." Aria said with a small smile.

"Toronto?" Jonah asked.

"Yes." Jonah said.

"No." Aria said at the exact same time.

"Just like you said, let's keep going." Jonah stated.

The next four programs that they applied to, they both got accepted into.

"Now it's the program in Europe." Aria said quietly.

"Just remember Aria. You're going to go, if you get in, and I'll go with you, if I get in. If one of us doesn't get in, it's okay. We're going to be okay." Jonah stated.

They both opened there to see:

Aria's letter:

I am glad to inform you that you have been accepted into this -

"I got it! Read you letter, Jonah!" Aria exclaimed.

Jonah's letter:

I am very sorry to tell you, but you have not been accepted into this program. You have great potential; however, because of the amount of applicants -

"I didn't get in." Jonah said.

They both hugged each other, understanding what was going to happen.

Jonah's second choice was to go to Toronto, Canada, so he'll go there, and Aria will go to Europe.

They will be okay, or at least they think they will.

"You kids are amazing children. You guys have so much potential, wherever you guys decide to go, you will do great things. Don't forget that. Come on let's eat." Aria's mom stated.

"Thank you." Jonah and Aria said at the same time.

Everyone ate quietly. Nobody asked Jonah or Aria any questions about where they were going to go, or what they were going to do. They all understood that silence was needed at this time.

Later that night, they departed to their respected houses.

When Jonah's family got home, it started to rain silently.
