"Hi, I'm Jonah." Jonah said while extending his hand out in front of Aria.

"What the heck. I already know that Jonah." Aria said while pushing Jonah's hand away from her.

"What might your name be?" Jonah continued.

"...." Aria stayed silent.

"Aria, I'm just trying to start over. Can we do that? Can we start over?" Jonah said calmly.

"Fine. Hi I'm Aria. I'm seventeen years old. My favorite color is any dark color. I have a short temper and I hold grudges for the longest time. My situation at home isn't that great. I mean like I have parents and all, but they have issues, so then that bothers me. I love photography. It's my getaway from reality. So I've said my short little life story. Who might you be?" Aria said.

"Hi Aria. That's quite the story. I'm Jonah. I'm also seventeen years old. I don't have a favorite color. My parents died when I was younger. I don't remember much about them, other than the fact that my mom was a painter and she would always make me paint with her. My dad was usually out. I guess that's why I love painting." Jonah responded.

"Wow um I'm sorry." Aria murmured.

Jonah heard her.

"For what?" Jonah asked.

"For losing your parents. I may have not known your parents. But growing up without parents must be hard. You don't have anyone who cares about you around you. So I'm sorry for what you don't have. I'm also sorry for being such a stuck-up person, but it's just in my nature. I'll try to let go of this grudge, but to be honest, I'll always bring it up because that's just what I end up doing. Just know that I've forgiven you and that I do care. And we'll get through this together." Aria said.

"Nobody has ever said that to me. All of my friends, well the couple that I have, act like they care, but I know they don't. They're just happy because I spend all the money that my parent's left me on them. Which reminds me, I should really get new friends. Would you like to be my friend, Aria?" Jonah asked.

"Hmmmm. I'll have to think about it" Aria responded with a hint of humor in her voice.

"....." Jonah stayed silent with a long face. He was kinda bummed. Ever since he met Aria, he was completely intrigued by her. He really wanted to get to know her.

"Jonah I was just kidding. Of course I'll be your friend." Aria said while laughing.

Her laugh was utterly beautiful. It was lovely. Jonah loved it. He wanted to hear it more often.

"You should laugh more often. You look beautiful when you laugh." Jonah blurted out.

"Thank you." Aria responded shyly. Nobody had ever called her beautiful. She knew that she was pretty, but when Jonah said that she looked beautiful, she actually felt beautiful and pretty, for the first time.

"Are you tired?" Jonah asked.

"Not really. You got anything in mind?" Aria replied.

"Yea. Let's just get to know each other by playing games until help comes." Jonah said.

They played small little games and all was forgotten.

They forgot that they were stranded in Alaska.

They forgot that they had frostbite.

They forgot that they were freezing to death.

All they remembered was that they were having a great time together.

Maybe someone would see their S.O.S. sign soon.
