A/N: I literally have no idea why I put Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood on here, but oh well. Listen to it though! It took me forever to think of this chapter. I'm so sorry for the late update. Senior year is absolutely crazy. Anyways, on with the story.
Jonah grinned widely at Aria's house while walking into his new house. He saw his guardians laughing in the kitchen while eating donuts.
He coughed to capture their attention.
"Hi Jonah! We were wondering how long you would take to get here. Were there any problems on the way getting here?" Ms. Robinson asked him sweetly.
"No, Mrs. Robinson. I got here completely fine." Jonah replied.
"Call me mom. Please. That would be nice." Mrs. Robinson said.
"Okay....mom" Jonah said.
"That's much better. Your room is upstairs on the right. I hope you like it. You can go check it out and settle in, if you want." Ms. Robinson said.
With that, Jonah went upstairs to go check out his room.
He put his stuff down carefully and stared in awe. He'd never had such a large and elegant room.
It was amazing. He loved every bit of it.
But something was missing.
His touch.
He decided that he was going to paint his walls.
Right before he walked out the door, Mr. Robinson stopped him.
"Hey son, where are you off to?" Mr. Robinson asked.
"I'm just going to the store to buy some paint. I want to paint my room." Jonah replied with a small smile.
"That's nice. Here take this money. And buy whatever you need." Mr. Robinson said while giving Jonah 200 dollars.
"Sir, this is too much. I just need to get some paint. I have my own money." Jonah said while giving the money back to Mr. Robinson.
"First of all, call me dad. Second of all, take the money. Save it if you want, but you have to keep it. I'm not taking it back. Do you understand?" Mr. Robinson said sternly.
"Yes Mr.R...I mean dad. I'll see you in a while" Jonah said while walking out of the door.
Jonah glanced at Aria's house and wondered why their paths hadn't crossed yet.
'She's probably just tired.' Jonah thought.
*In Aria's house*
"ARIA COME DOWN HERE!" Aria's mom shouted.
Aria ran down the stairs as fast as she could. She didn't want to get in trouble for not getting downstairs on time.
"What do you need mom?" Aria asked her mom.
"Someone just moved in next door, so I need you to make something and go over to their house to welcome them into the neighborhood." Her mom said.
"Okay mom." Aria replied.
"Good girl. I have to go out, so take care of yourself and don't burn the house down. Love you." Her mom said while rushing out the door.
'What should I cook?' Aria thought.
She went into the kitchen and got her recipe book out.
She looked through and then she finally figured what she was going to make.
APPLE PIE!
*Back at Jonah's house*
Jonah came back from the store to see that his parents weren't at home.
'I guess they went out or something' Jonah thought.
He went up stairs with the bucket of paint and started painting the walls.
A couple of hours later, the doorbell rang, so Jonah ran downstairs without cleaning himself up.
His hair was disheveled, his hands and clothes were covered in paint. You could tell that he was working hard.
He opened the door and the first thing he heard was:
"Jonah!?"
He was startled.
Then he looked up and saw Aria holding a freshly baked apple pie.
