Jonah sat in his room quietly. It had been a week since he had left his room. He was drowning in his sorrows. He didn't like change. He didn't want to leave his parents. He didn't want to leave Aria.
Aria spent all her time finding programs, so she could pursue her career. She has always wanted to pursue her career in photography, and know she's getting the chance to do so. She wasn't going to let this go. Anyways, she was applying to the same areas as Jonah was.
It wasn't until 5 days later, when she found her a program she's dreamt about all the time. She could backpack all around Europe with camera. It was a spectacular program
However, she would have to talk to Jonah about it. Jonah was the one thing that could hold her back from leaving. She didn't want to leave him. She decided to go talk to him.
Aria knocked on Jonah's front door, and Jonah's mom kindly welcomed her in.
"Aria, it's so good to see you. Jonah has been in his room for the past week. It's outrageous. He doesn't even come down for dinner. I would have called you earlier, but Jonah didn't let me. Can you please talk to him for me?" Jonah's mom pleaded.
"Sure. Let's just hope he lets me in." Aria said with light shrug.
She walked up to Jonah's room, and she saw a "DO NOT ENTER" sign painted on the door.
She washed all the paint off before entering his room.
"Did you not see the do not enter sign? How many times have I told you to not come into my room mom?" Jonah asked.
"Woah" Aria said while looking around his room.
"Get out Aria. I don't want to talk to anyone." Jonah said.
"How long have you been painting?" Aria asked still astonished by the amount of canvas there were in his room.
"Just go Aria." Jonah said while pushing Aria out of his room and the slamming the door shut.
"Jonah please let me in. I'm sorry. Please let me in. Talk to me. Tell me what's wrong. Your mom told me that you've been in your room for a whole week. Tell me what's wrong, Jonah." Aria pleaded while sitting down against the door.
"Just leave Aria." Jonah said.
"Okay Jonah. I'll go. But just know that you made me go. I will always be here for you, but right now, you're the one that's making me leave. I just wish you could talk to me." Aria said while getting up.
But then she heard Jonah whisper, "Don't go," so she slowly opened the door and hugged Jonah. He was silently crying.
"What's wrong Jonah?" Aria asked.
"I don't want to talk about it. Let's go do something." Jonah requested.
"I've got something in mind, but first let's go get some ice cream." Aria said with a small smile. Seeing Jonah cry really breaks her heart, and now he's not even telling her what happened. She just hopes that it wasn't her fault.
Aria and Jonah drove to the nearest ice cream shop and ordered Chocolate Sundae.
"So where are we going?" Jonah asked curiously.
"That would ruin the surprise, wouldn't it?" Aria blatantly replied.
"I didn't know there was an element of surprise included in this trip." Jonah replied.
"I didn't know that friends, scratch that, best friends kept things from each other." Aria fired back.
"That was a low blow." Jonah said calmly.
"Whatever. I don't want to go out anymore. I'm going to go home." Aria said while getting up to leave.
Jonah grabbed Aria's wrist before she could leave.
"Please don't go." Jonah pleaded.
"When you decide you want to talk to me, you'll know where to find me" Aria said.
Jonah let go of her hand and let her go home.
He understood her behavior.
Ever since they came back from Alaska, they told each other everything.
He didn't really understand why he was reluctant on telling her.
But he still needed a little more time to himself.
He needed to set his priorities straight.
