A few months later
Madison's POV
"It's great to see you, Maddie!" Bethany, who was the first person I became friends with when I found this job, ran up to me, pulling me into a squeeze hug.
I smiled, hugging back, "Hey Beth."
"How are you feeling?" She helped me sit down on one of the chairs as I shrugged.
"My leg still hurts a little, but I've been stuck in bed so all I want now is to start working again." I observed her as she politely asked one of the other girls who worked at the daycare to take the kids outside.
"Beth, I came back to work to actually start working - not to sit around." I protested.
"Its fine. I needed a break with the kids anyway so we can catch up, and then I'll let you work. So, tell me, how have you been? Has someone been helping you around? Do you need my help with anything?"
"No thank you. I've had my best friend helping me."
"Ohhh, what's her name? Do I know her?"
"You don't know her." I looked down at the floor, discreetly smiling to myself just when the door opened, and I hadn't noticed the visitor until someone used their hands to cover my eyes from behind. I giggled quietly as I realized who it was as soon as I heard Ross's husky whisper in my ear.
Ross uncovered my eyes and pulled up a chair beside mine. I turned to face him, seeing him grin. I could tell that his eyes lit up behind the shades he was wearing. They always did whenever he smiled. His hair was such a cute mess as if he'd only just gotten out of bed and only ran his hand through his hair. He had texted me this morning that he would be in the studio all day, so it really did surprise me when he appeared here.
"Introduce me to your friend then, Mads." Bethany perked up and I realized that I had actually somehow forgotten she was here for a moment.
"Uh this is..." I started speaking but Ross interrupted me, suddenly speaking in a deeper voice and introducing himself with a different identity. I buried my face in his chest to stifle a laugh, my hands instantly gripping his shirt to try to calm myself down.
Bethany said something about us being cute and Ross spoke politely but still in the hilariously deep voice, "Could you leave us for a moment please? I have something to talk about with this Blondie."
"Of course. See ya later, Maddie. Just no funny business, you two." Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Bethany playfully wriggling her eyebrows at me before leaving to join the kids outside.
"What are you doing here, Shor? You were meant to be at the studio all day." I lifted my head away from his chest and felt deeply relieved to hear Ross finally speak up with his normal voice.
"I had to see you since I had to leave before you woke up."
He lifted me up, making me squeal as he set me down on his lap and settled his hands on my lower waist.
"Why? Is everything okay?"
"Yeah. I missed you like crazy and plus, I finished at the studio earlier. You'll never guess what your father did though." He chuckled, running his hand down my leg.
"What?" I instantly panicked.
Ross stared into my eyes, reassuring me, "Nothing bad. He just called me today and asked when's our wedding. But that also brought me here since Rocky told me he's getting married and invited me to the wedding, so I thought you could go with me. If you wanted to, of course."
"Did you have anyone else in mind other than me?" I smiled at the thought of us getting married. Since I started trial dating Ross, I had been thinking about the future a whole lot more.
