Ross's POV
I sat on the couch with my arm around Madison's neck as she rested her head on my chest and curled herself up beside me.
"Babe, do you want to go out tonight? It's my release party and-"
"I'm absolutely exhausted after a whole day of work." She lifted her head up with a sad expression on her face.
"Everyone would've been so jealous if they saw my gorgeous girlfriend." I pressed my lips to her forehead, gently caressing her cheek.
"I'm sorry, but I really can't go with you tonight." Madison suddenly jumped off the couch, sprinting to the bathroom and I could faintly hear her throwing up. I checked up on her in the bathroom, moving her hair out of the way as I rubber her back soothingly.
"What's wrong, Mads?"
"I-I think I have the stomach flu." She managed to stop vomiting and cleaned up her mouth, leaning her back against the bathroom tub.
"Have you been to the doctor? How long has this been going on?" I carefully hugged Madison's waist.
"It only started today. Don't worry about me. Just go and enjoy yourself." She gave me a weak smile and I couldn't help but feel like she was implying that she wanted me to stay.
"I'll stay." I took her hands into mine, pulling her closer.
She shook her head almost instantly. "No. You need to go. You need to celebrate the release of your album, Ross." She stared into my eyes, slightly squeezing my hands.
"You sure, love?"
"Y-yeah." Madison made her way back to her room.
I ran a hand through my hair, figuring that I couldn't pressure her anymore. I just knew that I'd definitely be worried about her the whole evening.

I leaned against the wall, tapping my fingers against the drink glass in my hand. All throughout the room, people were dancing around and singing to my new songs, pretending to be rockstars. Rydel appeared next to me, resting her hand on my shoulder, "What's up, bro? You look a bit down. It's your party!"
"I know, but I'm worried about Madison. She said she's been sick all day. I really shouldn't have left her alone at home." A feeling of guilt rushed over me.
"It's probably some sort of bug going around. She'll be fine, I promise. Now are you going to enjoy your own party?" She pushed me into the crowd and I arched an eyebrow at her, making her laugh before she went back to Ellington. I steadied myself and slowly backed away as soon as I saw Carter dancing her way through the crowd. Before I knew it, she was in front of me, wearing a very revealing dress and holding my hand.
"Hey, Rossy!" She slurred, her fingers fumbling with my shirt buttons.
"Leave me alone." I left her hanging, breathing a sigh of relief once I saw Riker, Rocky, Rydel, Ellington along with my parents.
"Hey, guys. What's up?" I fixed my jacket and shirt.
"Why don't we perform one of R5's songs as a mini reunion? It's not everyday that the youngest member of R5 releases his own album." Riker patted my back, smiling proudly, earning a chuckle from me and the others. We all nodded in agreement and made our way up onto the stage.
Once we got the instruments tuned and ready, Rocky spoke up into the microphone, "Yo, guys. We wanted to congratulate our lil bro, Ross with a mini reunion of," he paused for a moment "R5!"
The crowd stared at us in anticipation and we started performing the first song which was Ain't No Way We're Going Home. It brought back so many memories of us being on the road together as a band. We then performed a few more songs including All Night, Forget About You and Cali girls.
I glanced back at the others, deciding that I wanted us to perform an acoustic version of If I Can't Be With You. They agreed, Rocky instantly grinning at Aubrey who was in the crowd, cheering for her husband.
I almost ended up falling off my stool as I sang and saw none other than Madison appear at the back of the room, giving me a small wave with a smile on her face. She was wearing a simple black lace dress, black flats and her hair straightened with minimal makeup. Stunning, as always. The thought of her health instantly rushed into my mind when she leaned against the wall for support and tried to remain smiling.
Her heartwarming smile faded as soon as Carter ran onto the stage, shouting my name and flinging her arms around me. I could see the hurt in Madison's eyes as she gave me one last glance and left.
I didn't even care about the party, my album. Nothing mattered except Madison; it was obvious that the worst thoughts regarding me and Carter came to her mind. I didn't think twice when I pushed Carter off and sprinted off after Maddie, grabbing her arm to pull her back to me.
"Get off me! You clearly enjoyed yourself with Carter all over you, didn't you?! Was this your way of having fun without me? Having your ex with you? " I cupped the back of her neck with one hand whilst holding her arm with my other hand.
"Honestly?" I used my thumb to caress her cheek, feeling her skin already damp from tears. "I hated it because there's no other girl that makes me feel the way you do. Carter was one of the biggest mistakes I made in my life and I try to get away from her, but that's not always possible since she works at the label. She means nothing to me. You're my everything. That'll never change."
I shut up when Madison buried her face in my chest and I wrapped my arms around her, resting my chin on her head and whispering softly, "You look incredible like always, gorgeous. How are you feeling? Shouldn't you be in bed resting if you've got the stomach flu? I'm definitely not complaining that you're here, though-"
"Can you let me speak, Ross?" She interrupted me, keeping her arms around my waist as she lifted her head up to meet my eyes and I moved her hair out of her face, wiping some mascara that had smudged under her eyes.
"I lied when I said that I only started feeling sick today. It's been going on for a few days." She reached her hand to touch my cheek and I tilted my head against her hand, smiling at the feeling of her touch.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I blinked slowly, rubbing her back. "Have you been to the doctors?"
She slowly nodded, staring at the ground.
"And?" I furrowed my eyebrows with concern as I gave her waist a small squeeze. "What did they say?
"That's what we need to talk about, Shor."
Just as she opened her mouth to continue, her eyes clouded with nervousness, sudden cheering cut her off. I looked at her apologetically, my body filled with worry as the crowd began shouting my name, urging me to get up on the stage to say a few words.
I leaned forward to kiss her forehead gently, cupping her cheek as I did so. "We'll talk later, okay?" She gave me a small smile, giving my hand a squeeze before playfully shoving me towards the stage.
What do you think that Madison will tell Ross? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I seriously can't believe that this book has only just reached 2.5K and now it has 2.8K! Thank you so so much.
