Madison's POV
I used to enjoy the rocking of the bus, the action oddly comforting that it would lull me to sleep. I would always bury my head in Ross' chest, relishing in the feeling of his hands running through my hair or rubbing soothing circles on my back. But now? Sleep was almost impossible.
I glared down at my stomach, my nine month stomach, begging that the baby would stop moving for just a few moments so I could get some rest. I loved feeling our little bug move inside my belly, but when I was this exhausted, I just wanted it to stop. I hadn't properly slept in weeks, only having short naps whenever we were on the road, or whenever Ross rehearsed at the venue he was playing at.
It was barely six in the morning and I had been up for two hours, the bus silent as we cruised down the empty road. Ross was sound asleep, having played a sold out show the night before. He was almost exhausted as I was, but the smile on his face never went away. Playing shows for his fans always brought a large grin to his face, and I knew that would never change, no matter how tired he could be.
I felt a sharp kick land right under my ribs, and I winced, placing my hand right at the spot she kicked on my belly. That seemed to be her favorite spot. Yes, her. Ross and I were having a girl, and we couldn't be happier.
Though we were on tour, we were able to visit a doctor wherever we were to make sure our baby was healthy and on the right growth track. And when the time came to find out the gender, we jumped at the chance. I needed to know if we were having a boy or girl, and there was no way I would be able to wait until I gave birth. Ross had cried, much to my surprise. His eyes had filled with tears as he stared at the monitor that showed our baby girl, and they slowly rolled down his cheeks, landing on my hand as he tightly held onto it.
We were having a little girl, and we were so overjoyed.
I turned my head as the curtain that separated the sleeping and sitting area slid open, and Ross walked through. He was shirtless, like always, letting out a yawn as he rubbed his eyes tiredly. I gave him a tired smile, moving over on the couch so he could sit beside me.
"Can't sleep?"
I shook my head, resting my head on his arm as I placed a kiss on his bare skin. "She won't stop kicking."
He lowered his head down to my stomach, his hand resting near my belly button. "Are you giving your mommy a hard time? She needs her beauty sleep, ladybug. When she's tired, she's grumpy, and daddy doesn't like grumpy mommy."
I swatted his head, though I couldn't stop myself from smiling. I loved it when he talked to her.
He grinned up at me, before going back to talking to my belly. "We can't wait to finally meet you; finally hold you. We love you so much, baby girl. And I promise you, we'll find you the perfect name rather than calling you baby girl all the time."
I let out a small laugh. "I don't know, it's kinda growing on me.
He sat up, but kept his hand remained on my stomach. "You excited to be going home?"
"I am," I admitted. "but I will miss being on the road with you. This was like our vacation before becoming parents."
After months of touring, Ross was finishing off his tour with his last concert in Los Angeles. It only made sense to finish back home, where all our friends and family would be cheering him on in the crowd. This was the longest he had been away from his family, always touring with them. But despite the distance between them, they face timed, texted, and talked every night. They were so proud of him, and I always held back tears whenever Stormie cried about missing her son.
