I ran through the dark halls, dodging the bodies that lay in my path. A high-pitched shriek cut through the night. Faces emerged from the walls, some calling me towards them, some blaming me for their fate. There was a large crash somewhere in front of me and a skinless dog bounded towards me. I tried to stop running; to turn and run, but I couldn’t. I kept running straight towards the savage beast. As the space between us shortened I braced myself for the end but instead the dog just ran through me. Well more it evaporated around my. It ran full blown towards me but right before the impact the dog turned to a dark red smoke.
This time when I tried to stop running it worked. The momentum caused me to topple forwards. I landed with a thud onto a lifeless corpse. Its cold dead eyes stared up at me. The corpse was Christian. Suddenly his eyes moved and stared into my soul. Slowly, his lips began to form words, his horse voice filling the hall.
“Why Melody? Why couldn’t you have just left well enough alone?” I stared at him.
“What are you talking about?” I whispered.
“Why couldn’t you just leave it alone?” He hissed again.
“Leave what alone!” I yelled louder. He corpse stayed silent and his eyes went dead. I pounded on his chest. “Christian! Come back! What are you talking about!” I yelled, sobbing. Nothing. Something moved behind me and I spun around. A Blacksuit stood behind me, his silver eyes staring down at me. I scrambled to my feet and backed away. The Blacksuit’s face started morphing between Gary’s face and back to his. I gasped and rubbed at my eyes before looking back at the Blacksuit. His face was still morphing.
“Beneath Heaven is Hell. Beneath Hell is Furnace.” The Blacksuit grinned. “Enjoy your stay.”
