"It isn't hard. Just go outside and make sure Chelby's okay!" Kalie yelled at Sarah. I turned over so I wasn't facing them and covered my face with my pillow hoping to block them out.

"Why can't you do it you little coward," Sarah snarled and I huffed. I would never get sleep like this. I turned around quickly and sat up grumpily scowling at them both.

"What," I said through gritted teeth, "on earth is going on?"

"Chelby had to go to the bathroom and we found out the toilet was clogged, and I did not clog it by the way, so she went out to find the public one," Kalie informed me and I raised my eyebrow.

   "So?"

"So... that was an hour ago," Sarah grumbled. I looked at up at her as if I had just realized she was there. I looked away from her and focused on Kalie.

"I'll go look for her," I mumbled and stood up tiredly, stumbling over my feet. I rubbed my eyes and grabbed my shoes, putting them on. Sarah tossed me a flashlight.

"Stay safe," they chorused and I shrugged like it was nothing and opened the door. As much as I hated being woken up in the middle of the night to go find someone I hated in the scary woods, it felt good to be doing something that doesn't have anything to deal with Austin, Alex, or Sarah.

I turned on the flashlight and shined in front of me. All I saw was grass and trees. I stumbled down the steps of the small, creaky porch. I understood why they didn't want to come out here. It was creepy.... and dark... and quiet.

I quickly sped up. I wanted to find her as quick as possible so I could get out of here. Where would she have gone anyway? I have no idea where the nearest bathroom is.

I stopped in front of a path leading into the woods. Maybe there was one on the other side of the woods. I gulped and slowly and hesitantly walked over there, taking tiny baby steps.

There were animals in these trees, animals. Wild animals.

I whimpered slowly and turned around to go back to the cabin but suddenly my body went rigid all over. You know that feelings where there's someone behind you?

   Yeah I was feeling that.

There's probably no one there, Hayden, just walk away.

I felt a little bit better at that thought and took a shaky step forward but slipped over something and hit my head on the ground. I groaned and rubbed my head and slowly stood up.

   Crack.

I tensed again. There was definitely something behind me.

   I turned around slowly...

I screamed so loud I'm pretty sure I woke up half the students. I jumped up and fell backwards again, hitting the back of my head against a stick.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean- Are you okay?" a voice asked and ran over to me. I pushed myself off of my elbows so I was in a sitting position and looked over at who was there.

It was a guy from drama class, but I've never talked to him before.

"Who are you?" I asked and rubbed my eyes. He put his hand out and I gratefully took it and stood up. Despite not knowing him, I felt a lot better not being out here alone.
