Chapter 24
"Okay so as you all know today, after school, we are going to go on our first trip with the love project! It's going to be so fun! We'll have activities everywhere, and we'll have a bunch of cabins for everybody to stay in and we'll have a campfire and it will be perfect!"
I puffed out my cheeks and repeated again and again hoping to save myself from boredom. Yes, we know, it's going to be fantastic!
Note the sarcasm.
At least Austin will be with me.
I snuck a glance over at Austin who was using his eraser to draw on his desk. I bit my lip to keep from smiling. He looked over at me and I quickly looked away. I didn't want him to know I was staring.
Dang I'm such a girl now. I guess I've caught on to Sarah.
"Psst," she whispered beside me. I turned to face Sarah. She held a note in her hand and then she tossed it on my desk. I stared at it for a second before I carefully put in my lap and unfolded it.
Stop staring at Austin. You're making it obvious ;)
I rolled my eyes and got out my pen.
Don't judge me, I see u checking out Alex all the time.
I quickly passed it to her and watched as she opened it up and read it. Her face turned from perky to sad and she crumpled up the paper and stuffed it in her pocket.
Maybe bringing up Alex wasn't such a good idea.
"Miss Shouse, Miss Wright, did I see you two just passing notes a second ago?" the teacher stopped her lecture and looked straight at us. Sarah's face flushed and I fiddled with my hands.
Hopefully Sarah crumpled the paper up good because I will die if she reads it in front of the class.
"Sorry, it won't happen again," Sarah stepped up and I mentally thanked her in my mind. I was too nervous to say anything.
"I better not see it again ladies or I will read it in front of the class. I bet it's about those two boys eh? Austin and Alex, I see you two ladies staring at them," she smirked at us and then turned back to her desk. Everybody started laughing at us, but I was mortified.
I hid my face with my sleeve and sneaked a look at Sarah who was just rolling her eyes, acting cool. I decided that would be best so they wouldn't suspect anything. I removed my hands from my face and looked at Austin who raised his eyebrow at me. I shrugged in response and he smiled and looked away.
Bless you Sarah.

"But you should've seen your faces. Hayden you looked like a tomato and Sarah you were as pale as a vampire," Rob laughed and I frowned and stared at my food.
"Don't listen to them, that teacher just likes to mess with us," Alex whispered to me and I bit my lip to keep from smiling.
"Yeah I know, Sarah and I were just passing notes about how lame this trip will be," I lied and I think I saw sadness flicker in Alex's eyes but he soon covered it up with a smile. I sighed. Of course he would be sad. He thought I was staring at him.
"I don't think it will be lame," Austin said in a small voice. I looked up at him and saw that no one else had heard except me. He shrugged at me and then started eating.
What is that supposed to mean?
"So what do you think she's going to make us do? I think she may go as far as making us sleep in the same bed," Alex scoffed.
