I gasped as the words came out of his mouth. I can't believe it. After all these years I had thought she was long gone.

"No! Tell her I said no!" I nearly screamed at him. He sighed and gave me a sympathetic look.

"Hayden you have to think-"

"No! I don't want to think about it! Do you know what she's done to me?" I asked in a hushed voice because people were beginning to stare at us.

"Yes, I do. She's been to jail, if you didn't know and she's changed. She wants to get to nkow you and catch up-" he tried saying but again I interrutped.

"But I don't know her! I haven't seen her in about 10 years! She's the person that ruined my childhood. I didn't grow up with her and I don't want to start now!" I said coldly and leaned back in my seat and stared at him waiting for him to answer.

"Are you sure?"

"Positive."

"I invited her over for dinner next week, so you can think about it," he whispered silently and looked down at his hands.

"What?!" I yelled loudly which caused to me to get more stares. If I yell one more time, I swear the manager is going to kick me out but I don't care.

"I didn't think you'd react this badly. Besides I can't cancel it now, she's already flying in from Montana," he explained and I put my face in my hands and sat there for a minute soaking it all in.

Austin found out about my dad.

My mom wants me to leave all my friends and Uncle Ben to go live with her.

I'm going to see my mom next week.

"Are you okay Hayden?" he asked lightly and reached over for my hand but I yanked it away.

"I can't believe you," I muttered and crossed my arms over my chest. He sighed and bit his lip.

"I'm sorry Hayden. I really am."

The rest of the night was awful. We ate our food in silence and it was really awkward. Chelby also came to Macaroni grill with her friends and tried to talk to me but I ignored her. Not just because of what Sarah told me but also becuase I didn't feel like talking to anybody at the moment.

When we were reached home, unsurpsingly, Rob, Austi, and Alex were outside playing baskterball. When I stepped out of the car they called my name but I ignored them and ran inside quickly and after Uncle Ben had already gone to his room, I locked the front door, knowing that the boys didn't care about privacy.

I walked into my room and kicked off my shoes and collapsed in bed, now bothering to change into my pajamas becuase I was too tired and was in desperate need of sleep. I closed my eyes shut and then the next second I was drifting away to sleep.

"Hayden!"

"Wake up Hayden!" I heard a voice yelling. I opened my eyes and saw Uncle Ben shaking me awake. I rubbe dmy eyes and sat up slowly.
