Chapter 12 – Emily
Mine and Amber’s mouths dropped open at the same time. There was my boyfriend, and her boyfriend, nearly on top of each other, kissing.
Passionately.
I had no idea what to say. I didn’t know if I should say anything at all. What do you do when you and your best friend walk in on your boyfriends kissing each other? I had no idea, and I doubted Amber had a clue either.
We both stood there watching them, shocked. I wanted to stop watching, yet I didn’t at the same time.
Pretty soon, Dan was on top of Phil and started running his hands just under the hem of Phil’s shirt. I had a feeling I knew what was gonna happen if Amber and I didn’t say anything, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to witness that first-hand. So I did what came natural. I yelled “YO!” loudly and sharply.
That got their attention.
They unattached their lips, and Phil looked over Dan’s shoulder at me. “Emily, it’s not what it looks like—”
I put my hand on my hip and raised an eyebrow, like “Are you sure it’s not what it looks like?”
Amber voiced my thoughts. “Really? Because it looks like the two of you—” She pointed to both of them—“have a little thing going.”
“Well, then it’s exactly what it looks like.” Dan said weakly.
“A-are you mad?” Phil asked me. He looked close to tears.
I squeezed my eyes shut, trying not to cave. “I’m not mad, I’m just—really?”
Phil blushed. “Well…yeah.”
“How long has this been going on?” Amber asked.
“Um…” Phil blushed. “It hasn’t been that long. Well, there was the thing that we did when we filmed ‘phil is not on fire’ in 2009…”
“Phil! I thought we agreed not to tell any of our fans about that!” Dan said, slightly upset.
“B-but they’re not fans. They’re our girlfriends—”
“Do you see the T-shirt that your girlfriend is wearing?” Dan said, gesturing towards me. I realized that I was still wearing my AmazingPhil lion face shirt, and tried to cover it up.
“Yeah, but—”
“GUYS!”
Dan and Phil stopped arguing and turned to look at Amber. “Stop fighting. We know now. We won’t tell your fans. We promise. Right, Emily?” She turned to me.
“Right.” I raised my right hand. “I swear.”
Amber did nothing.
I glared at her until she raised her right hand and said “I swear.”
“Okay, that’s settled,” I said.
“But, Emily…” Amber whispered to me, low enough that the boys wouldn’t hear. “There’s still the matter of what we walked in on…”
“Right.” I muttered back. Loud enough so that Dan and Phil could hear, I said “Well, but we still have one thing to work out. Amber and I will be right back.” I turned to leave, but turned right back. “And no funny business while we’re gone.” I glared at them for a few seconds, and then walked out of the room, Amber right behind me.
“Well?” she asked. “What are we gonna do? What are we gonna say?”
“What can we do?” I sighed and leaned against the wall.
