Keith was tackled into a hug.
He hesitantly wrapped his arms around the boy. Tears sprung in his eyes.
I can't believe it...
The little boy he knew as a kid. The little tan boy with the wide grin and bright blue eyes.
He was standing right in front of Keith.
"Oh my god, Keith it's actually you!", Lance cried. He was tightly embracing Keith, nearly crushing him.
"Y-yeah!", Keith stammered. A grin involuntarily stretched across his face.
"You've gotten a lot taller."
"I guess I have. Geez man, haven't you ever heard of a haircut?"
The two boys laughed, not daring to let go of each other in fear of it being a dream.
"Where have you been?!", Lance asked him in anticipation.
"You just left! Poof!"
"I um-", Keith paused nervously, "My parents abandoned me..."
Lance looked him in the eye.
Keith was almost mesmerized by the clarity of his sea blue eyes.
His best friend's eyes.
"What?!", Lance asked incredulously. His face was filled with shock at the news.
Keith nodded, confirming the unfortunate old news.
The taller boy wrapped his arms around Keith again.
"I'm sorry man...", he whispered.
His face suddenly lit up.
"But it's great to have you back!"
Keith laughed. He ran a hand through his hair.
"To be honest, I thought I'd never see you again."
"Me either', Lance admitted.
Pidge cleared their throat impatiently.
"So um-", they said, "Are you going to explain what in hell is going on? Or can we assume you have a love/hate gay relationship with each other?"
