"Hello."

Fourth grade Lance looked up from his tray.
"Um... Hey?"

The tanned boy kicked his feet nervously.
"My name is Hunk... Do you mind if I sit here?"

Lance narrowed his eyes.
"No. I'm saving that seat for my friend Keith."

Hunk took a step back, obviously hurt.
"Where is he?"

Lance sighed, looking back down at his tray.
"He moved away in first grade. I'm waiting for him to come home, then he'll have a seat with me at the table."

"Well, can I wait with you?"

"Huh?"

Hunk smiled warmly.
"You look lonely, so I'm gonna wait for your friend with you!"

Lance grinned, "Really?! You can sit right here!"
He patted the chair on the opposite side of him.

"My name's Lance!", he added as Hunk sat down.

"Hi Lance!"

Fourth grade Lotor was playing hide-and-seek in the woods with his friends.

However, he was lost.

"Hello?", he called out, "Hello?"

Nothing.

He was starting to get scared.

Lotor stumbled into a clearing. He recognized it as Baker's pond, the pond behind the town orphanage.

Right by the water was a willow tree.

And right by the willow tree was a boy.

Lotor sprinted towards the tree.

"Hello!", he shouted, happy to have found someone.

"Go away."

Lotor pouted.
"Well that's just rude."

The boy was sitting with his back against the willow. His eyes looked up at Lotor bitterly from under his dark bangs.
"I want to be left alone", he grumbled.

"Well I'm lost. And you're the only person here."

"That's how I like it."

"Why do you always want to be alone?", Lotor asked crossly.

"Because I always have been."

It finally came to Lotor.
The boy must be one of the orphans.

He sat down next to him.

The boy glared daggers at him.
"What are you doing?!"

Lotor crossed his arms.
"Making sure you're not alone. My name is Daniel too, if you wanna be nice and not such a brat."

The boy's gaze softened.
He turned away so Lotor couldn't see him smile.

"My name is Asher. Asher Haxus."
