Lance stood beside Keith, his hands proudly on his hips.
"Yeah", he smiled, "I thought you'd might like to revisit some old memories."
Keith was experiencing flashbacks.
Growing up with Lance and Mrs McClain.
Having fun.
Being abandoned....
Lance turned to look at him. His eyebrows raised in shock.
"Dude, are you crying?"
Keith quickly wiped his face, furiously shaking his head.
"No. It's this fucking sand blowing in my eyes."
"It's not even that windy, Keith."
"Shut up."
The taller boy tossed off his shoes and sprinted into the water.
When it was up to his waist, he turned around.
"You coming Keith?"
Lance outstretched a hand.
"Like when we were kids!", he laughed.
Keith faintly smiled.
He slowly waded into the water, but tripped on a swimming child halfway there.
Luckily, Lance caught his arm before Keith got a face full of salt.
"Be careful", he teased, helping Keith up, "You don't want to drown in Pidge's personality.
Keith stood up and rolled his eyes.
Moments later he realized that Lance hadn't let go of his arm. Instead, the boy had clasped his hand around his wrist.
Lance smiled at the children playing.
"Y'know, you could bring a girl up here. I'm pretty sure she'd dig it as a date."
"That would be nice, if I wasn't into guys more."
Keith froze.

Their gazes met.
"I still do", Lance admitted.
"Really?", Keith asked in shock.
"Dude you're fucking hot. Why wouldn't I?"
"So... You aren't homophobic? Because I was afraid that you would-"
Lance hastily kissed him full on the mouth, then leaned back with the biggest shit-eating smirk ever.
"Does that give you your answer?"
"I hate you Beanpole."
"Sure you do Mullet."
The Cuban boy dunked the other in the water and quickly swam away.
"YOU'RE GOING TO FUCKING DIE MCCLAIN", Keith raged as soon as he resurfaced.
"You have to catch me first!"
