After the boy left I didn't really think he was coming back. Especially after two weeks passed. I mean, why would he? He actually had a life, I was just some girl next door. Just as I thought this I heard a *thump* and a faint "Ouch!" And I knew he was back, he had returned for me.

"Natsu?! Natsu!" I whisper- yelled holding on to the bars on my window.

"I'm back!" He said triumphantly, holding up a bag of beef jerky and a blanket. He took out a piece of jerky and began to chew it, passing the rest to me through the bars of my window. I took a bite.

"Wow!" I coughed. "This is... SPICY!"

"Haha oh yeah, sorry, I like it that way," Natsu replied, embarrassed.

"No," I answered, "it's delicious!" I cried, licking my fingers.

"So." He said.

"So." I had never really had a conversation with anybody since I was young. What was I supposed to say? To a boy? I suddenly felt my cheeks get hot, and knew I was blushing furiously. Natsu laughed.

"What? Have you never had a conversation before?" He asked lightly, smiling.

"Not in 7 years." I replied softly.

"Really?" He asked, his smile fading, "wow, well I don't think that's right. I mean, no offence or anything but it's pretty damn stupid actually." Natsu said matter of factly.

"You think I would stay here if I had a choice?!" I snapped, "sorry." I said frowning. "It's just hard thinking I might be in here forever is all."

"Oh you'll get out." Natsu said devilishly. "I'll make sure of it."

"N- Natsu." I stuttered, blushing again. Just then I heard a knock on my door. "Oh, no." I whispered, waving him off,

"Tomorrow." He mouthed as he silently jumped the fence and left.

You had better come back Natsu. Or I'll go crazy. I thought.

"What is is mother? It's not lunch time yet." I asked.

"Well, uh it's me." Said a man's voice. My father?

"Father is that you?" I asked, my voice wavering. I haven't talked to my dad in years. Why was all this happening now?

"Yes darling... Honey... Lucy... What should I call you?" He asked out of respect, but it only made me feel hatred. He is my father, but he isn't my dad. He should know what to call me. I didn't answer.

"Well you see, I've brought you something. A gift of sorts." He said.

I understood now. Had it been two years already? Every two years my father came to give me a gift, it was more like bribery. He gave me something nice, I didn't try to escape. He fed me, I didn't try to escape. He let my mother talk to me, to remind me why I shouldn't try to escape. It was more like a cycle.

"I don't want anything from you." I seethed, my teeth clenched.

"Oh, Lucy please don't hate us." He sounded pathetic. Pleading you're daughter not to hate you? What self respecting man does that? And then it hit me. He wasn't self respecting. He did hate himself. He really, truly believed I was dangerous. Maybe... Was I dangerous? In a world of magic, memories could be forged. Was I so dangerous that I couldn't handle my memories? How could I think all these things? It was them. My parents, they did this to me. They made all these horrible feelings surface. They might have changed my memories!

"You stay away from me. You let me out, and never come near me again." I said, my voice quivering with the oncoming of tears. My throat was dry, I felt dizzy.

"Now Lucy-"

"Let. Me. Out of here!" I shrieked. Suddenly I heard the locks of the door turning. Squealing with old age.

He's going to do it. I thought. He's going to let me out.

The cold metal door opened and he stepped into my room. Holding a large box.

"It was to big to fit through the crack. I hope you like it." He said, I wasn't really paying attention. The door was wide open. I could easily slip past my father and get away. Natsu, I thought. Why would I think of him. But every time I looked at the door his name creeped into my mind, and I remembered what he said. "Oh, you'll get out. I'll make sure of it." Natsu had been so certain when he said it. I shouldn't trust him, I only just met him. I thought. But something deep inside me knew he would come back. My father stepped out the door and I heard the locks click in place.

Natsu. You'd really better come out tomorrow.

Leaving Lucy behind killed me. But I had no choice, what could I have done? I had not tools to help her, no more food to offer her, why would she even want me there? I smiled at the thought of her actually wanting me there. Lucy was actually really pretty. I thought.

Idiot, idiot, idiot! Why would I think that?!

"Oh, Natsu. I was just heading to the field to play soccer, wanna come?" Gray asked as he walked towards me. "Woah, Natsu what happened to you?" He laughed, "you're blushing harder than when Lisanna kissed you!"

"What?! No I'm not! Wait, you saw that?!" I yelled.

"Yeah, and I told Elfman, too!" Gray cried, laughing like a hyaena.

"What?" I said, dead serious. "Gray I know we fight but I didn't know you want me to DIE!" I said in a pleading tone. The boy just fell to his knees, barely able to breathe from laughing so hard. One look at his face and you knew he had only been joking, I heaved a huge sigh and dragged him to his feet. He was to wound up to even notice.

"Ok, I'm going to the field." I said blandly, "Meet me there when you're sane again." And with that I stalked off in the direction of the field.

I sat on my bed staring at the box for about 15 minutes before I decided to open it. It was probably just a stupid dress or something.

As I walked over to it and flipped the lid I gasped in shock. In the box, right at the bottom, peeking out from under a note, was a key. Not just any key, but one of my celestial gate keys. The gate of the lion to be exact. I quickly grabbed the key and checked it for scratches or dents, it was in perfect condition. It was real, too. I could feel the magic energy coming off of it. I turned to face the wall across the room and thrust my arm in a locking motion with the key.

"I open thee, gate of the lion. Leo!" I said, but nothing happened. Of course, my parents wouldn't really ever let me have my magic back. It was then that I remembered the note in the box. I lifted it out of the box and slowly read it aloud:

"One more. Each month."

12? That would be a whole year. And they could be lying. No, they might be horrible but they were never liars. So this was their plan. Wait until I became rebellious and keep me here another year. Oh they sure did have a surprise coming their way. And it all started tomorrow. I fell asleep with a sly smile on my face.
