LUCY* p.o.v.

I'm not sure how long we were running. It felt like hours, and I was exhausted. But even in my tired state I knew we'd only been running for roughly a minute. I wonder why I was so tired. Natsu looked over at me, and I met his eyes. Trying as hard as I could to not look helpless. I guess it didn't work, because he leaned over and scooped my up in his arms like I was a rag doll. I didn't say anything, but I think he knew I was grateful. I leaned my head against his chest and heard his heart beating softly, but with a quick pace.

"Are we almost there?" Asked Wendy, she sounded tired. Natsu should be carrying her, not me. So many new faces, it was hard to keep up with. And to think, I'd only met all of them in the last 4 hours. In fact, the only people I'd known before were Gray and Natsu. I tried not to think about it, and silently drifted off to sleep, not bothering to hear Levy's answer.

NATSU* p.o.v.

Lucy was light as a feather, but it still took a lot of my energy to run while carrying her. I knew I probably only had enough stamina to run for about 15 more minutes, but that didn't matter. If we weren't out of here in the next 4 minutes, we'd be dead anyways. Either way, I eagerly awaited Levy's answer.

"Yeah," she said, "it should just be around that corner." She huffed, pointing to a turn about 50 metres away. I increased my speed, passing Levi, who was in front for some reason. I rounded the corner and spotted the metal door, about to smash right through it until I realized Lucy was still asleep in my arms. She was mumbling something about being too hot, and for a second I was worried that my body temperature was affecting her, but she only huddled closer to me. She was asleep, I shouldn't wake her up. Adrenaline was pumping through me, I knew I should probably feel tired, but I didn't. I was wide awake, and I just wanted to get out with everybody else.

Levi walked up to the door and checked the doorknob. How much more stupid could he get? He put his hand across the metal, and slid it down the the base of the door.

"It's about 1.5" thick. If we all push from the base at the same time, it should-" he was cut off by a giant word that said 'concrete' crashing through the door. We all turned.

"Sorry," Levy said, "but we don't have much time."

Levi's eyes widened a little, and the rest of us looked awestruck. I hadn't known she could use magic. Much less Solid Script. That was pretty difficult to control, you had to know exactly what you were thinking, or saying. Without so much as another word, I rushed out of the door and began running through the desert sand.

LUCY'S DREAM p.o.v.

Yes, this was the right choice... I'm underwater. It's warm. So warm. My eyes are open, despite the salty oceans protests. I feel like I can see everything so clearly. The fish, with pink scales. The blazing coral. The heat. It's so perfect I nearly forget. I nearly forget that perfection doesn't exist in this world. Perfection doesn't exist. Perfection doesn't exist!

I nearly forget. I nearly forget that I'm underwater. I'm underwater and I can't breathe.

I nearly forget.

ERZA* p.o.v.

We all stare in shock at Mira and Lisanna. Their eyes are glistening with tears, they are not lying. But just because they are not lying doesn't mean they are right. I stare, jaw slightly agape, and finally compose myself.

"Whoa, slow down. What are you talking about? Wendy's not dead." I say. But I'm not so sure myself. Anything could've happened in there without me knowing. Maybe the guards got her, or maybe she used too much magic power and is passed out somewhere in there, or maybe... No! Stop!

Mira nodded slowly, and again broke down into tears.

"We were running together, being chased by guards. This was after we entered the building, we ran into Wendy and stayed with her, to make sure she was..." Mira sobbed and wiped her eyes with her arm, "to make sure she was safe." Her voice cracked on the last word. And for the first time I realized my face was wet, I'd been crying.

"No." I said simply. Wendy couldn't be dead. She just couldn't. Nobody understood, Wendy couldn't be dead.

NATSU*

I continued running farther and farther, despite the shouting protests of the others behind me. They were so close now, he couldn't stop. After a while he finally slowed to a walk, and realized how tired he was. He set Lucy down gently on the sand and sat on his knees beside her. He looked over at her and smiled. They were safe now. He was so tired, he couldn't keep a single thought in his mind straight. But watching the sun set, and preparing to hear the large explosion of the building, he had one sole clear thought on his mind. He didn't know why, even. But just before he passed out, his last thought was. This was all because of her.
