Chapter 18 The Return of Jacob

I was carrying Blake and Ally in my hands carefully making sure not to prick them with my claws. Violette had Morgan and Leo while Tiffany had Adam and Jake. While Niko watched our backs warily we made our way back to New York City. When we finally arrived it had been at least three days and we were all exhausted. The second I touched down I set down Blake and Ally and then I morphed quickly and moved out of the way so Violette could land next. I took off her ring and we moved out of the way with Morgan and Leo behind us while Tiffany landed a little clumsily but otherwise she did well. Finally Niko landed almost hitting the elevator once he morphed back it took me a moment to realize both of them were fully clothed like me after I morphed back.

We took the elevator in two groups and then made our way to my familys apartment where I found my mother pacing frantically, "I'm home," I said looking at her tears forming in my eyes. We embraced eachother in a hug and she wept into my shoulder. "Jacob your sister found a dragon egg," she whispered into my ear. I pulled away to look into her eyes before running into Mickayla's room to see a red dragon egg sitting on her bed. "Mickayla where did you find that?" I asked as Violette followed me in and stared in shock. "It just appeared in my room," she said inocently. "Mickayla it may be best if I keep it in my room I know what I'm doing when it comes to dragons and I don't you to get hurt when it hatches," I said not taking my eyes off the egg. "I guess but you have to get me when it hatches," she said looking at me warily as I picked up the egg and took it to my room.

I set it down and walked back out to see everyone looking at me expecting me to do something. "Is there something else I don't know?" I asked. Tiffany and Niko nodded while Violette sat on my shoulder her head low. "Well what is it?" I asked. "Theres been reports of a black dragon with gold eyes going on rampages across New York," Tiffany blurted. I stood there shocked before I relized why I was left to die in the woods. "Alazars escaped and he wants to destroy everything mankind has accomplished  and make us slaves to dragons," I said slowly and thoughfully. "Mom get the dragon slaying gear ready your gonna need it. Everyone go home and get some good sleep we're going dragon hunting tomorrow," I turned to go to my room but then I remembered that Blake and his friends didn't have anywhere to go. "Mom Blake and his friends need a place to stay is it okay if they stay here for a while," I said turning to look at her and Blake. "I don't mind just try and keep it down when you sleep," she replied. I went into my room with Violette on my shoulder and layed down looking at the red egg with interest before falling asleep.

We spent the next few days looking for Alazar but with no luck we eventually met up at my house so we could think things through. "I don't get it how can he hide so well it makes no sense," Tiffany said stressed out. I had a thought appear in my head, "Tiffany is it possible that maybe he is using a human form as a disguise until he needs to attack," I said to Tiffany who was deep in thought. "That would make sense why we can't find him anywhere," she replied still deep in thought. We talked before Tiffany and Niko went home while the rest of us went to sleep.

I was lying in my bed and I heard a cracking noise and looked over to see the egg was hatching. I sprung up and ran over to the egg, "Violette go get Mickayla," I whispered. She nodded and ran off to Mickayla's room. By the time Mickayla was in my room the dragon was almost out of the egg she looked at the egg excitedly. It finally broke through the egg and out crawled a red dragon with green eyes. It looked at me before approaching Mickayla warily, "Are you a boy or girl?" I asked. It looked at me before answering it's green eyes watching me with interest, "I'm a guy." I looked at him trying to figure out a name, "Any name ideas for a name?" I asked looking at my little sister who was mesmerized by the dragon in front of her. "Hows Blitz sound?" Mickayla asked. The dragon thought for a moment before replying "I like it." I grinned and said, "Violette you can come in now." Violette walked in and Blitz looked at her his eyes growing wide. "Princess what are you doing here?" Blitz aksed. "My father thought it would be safer here with somone trust worthy," Violette replied. "So who's the person watching over you?" Blitz asked looking from me to Mickayla then back to Violette. "That would be Jacob here," she said as she crawled up my arm and onto my shoulder. "Blitz do you know why my sister found your egg by chance," I asked him. "I'm going to guess it's so I can protect her," he replied looking up at my sister. "Whats your name?" he asked her his voice softening. "Mickayla," she said her vioce filled with excitement. "Well Blitz since your meant to protect her you can share a room with her," I said as I got up off the ground and sat on my bed. Blitz nodded and followed Mickayla to her room.

I fell asleep thinking about Blitzs sudden appearance in Mickayla. I woke to my alarm blaring and Violette turning it off like always. When I went to get up I couldn't move it was strange like my entire body had gone numb. "Violette I can't move my arms or legs get my mom and dad quickly," I heard the door open and Violette hurry to my parents room to wake them. I then heard my mother and father come running into my room with Violette right behind them. "Jacob whats this nonsense about you not being able to move?" my mother asked. "I really can't move I don't know why," I said hoping they would realize I was serious. "Call the doctor and the school we both know Jacob isn't one for jokes," my father said. They both rushed out of my room while Violette curled up next to me. Sometimes it seems like the world is against me I thought to myself.
