Chapter 9 Another Vampire

I lied there before I realized it was just Violette and I in the room. I slowly sat up and swung my legs over the side of the bed. Violette was sleeping and I didn't wish to wake her so as quietly as I could I got off the bed and stood up. I was a little shaky at first but I quickly adjusted and soon I was standing on steady legs. I let out a sigh and ended up breathing out a little bit of fire. I walked over to the window and opened it I felt my wings come out of my back and they were now kept close to my body. I was about to jump out the window and fly around when I heard the door open behind me. I heard a gasp as I turned around to see a nurse had brought in a dish which had an amazing smell I couldn't resist for some reason. I pulled my wings close to my back and didn't move as she set down the dish and walked out.

I walked over to the dish and pulled off the lid to see where the smell was coming from. It was meat and it was raw I couldn't help myself as I started eating it I soon had a full stomach. I closed the window and layed on the bed wrapping my wings around myself. I fell asleep with a full stomach and awoke in the morning when the doctor came into my room. I sat upright my wings almost fully expanded as the door slammed shut. The doctor must have realized he frightened me because he quickly said to me in a hushed voice, "Sorry I just wanted to check on you quietly." "If you wanted to check on me quietly then why did you slam the door," I asked him. He looked at me puzzled before speaking, "I think your senses are becoming sharper," he had a look of intrigue on his face. I just shrugged and felt my vision shimmer as my eyes changed to their red color.

It had been an hour since I had been woken up by the doctor and my family had finally come to pick me and Violette up. I walked out in the clothes my family had brought with them and got into the car with Violette a little nervous because it was her first time in a car. My mother had banned me from using my wings for a week as a precaution. It felt slow taking a car I had a sudden thought "Mom Dad there's something I need to tell you," my father signaled he was listening so I continued, "I have a dragon named Alazar who is part of my conscious and I promised him that occasionally he could take control of my dragon form and fly," my dad looked at me bewhilderd at what I had just told him.

When we arrived at our building and parked our car we made our way to the roof when we arrived I felt Alazar nudge my conscious wanting to fly through the air. I sighed and transformed into a dragon and let Alazar take control so he could fly and meet my family. Alazar seemed a little nervous at first but he quickly warmed up to them. "His eyes are a golden color," I heard Mickayla say. Well at least they can tell the difference through eye color I thought to myself. Violette seemed nervous around Alazar who took off into the air and flew around the city for at least an hour. Before he landed back on the roof where I took control and switched back. My clothes like Violette's father had promised were intact and I was fully clothed.

When I walked in the lights were off so I flicked on the lightswitch to hear my family yell "SURPRISE!!!" I almost torched the whole place because I had breathed in and I was holding back a fireball that I quickly swallowed. I saw Ryan, my family, and of course Violette who was on my little sisters shoulder. "I almost torched the place with a fireball you guys surprised me so well," I said a crazy grin on my face. Ryan gave me a fistbump while I gave everyone in my family a hug.

I noticed Violette go to my room and suddenly I heard stuff getting knocked over and Violette screeching at whatever was attacking her. I ran into my room and saw a man about to press fangs into her neck. He looked up at me and grinned showing his fangs to me I quickly let my tail and claws appear I had to restrict myself from using fire so I wouldn't burn down the building. I spoke my voice partially mixing with my dragons, "Put her down or I'm going to rip your freakin head off."

He jumped at me I didn't expect him to be so fast he soon had his fangs in my neck. I used my tail to grab his leg and pull him off of me. I felt the blood rushing down my neck but I didn't care I wanted to tear this guys head off. He was next to the window and I ran at him grabbing him by the throat and using him like a shield I smashed through the window. We were plummeting towards the ground him first I was about to use my wings when I felt claws dig into my back. "If I'm dying I'm taking you with me," the vampire said into my ear. We plummeted towards the ground and I braced myself feeling scales quickly cover my body. We hit the ground making a crater and sending dust everywhere. I felt perfectly fine except for the wounds in my neck I was perfectly fine compared to the what was left of the vampire who was a bloody mess. I swiftly grew my wings and flew to the window I had just flown out of to see everyone was perfectly fine except Violette who was a little shaken up.

I treated the wound on my neck quickly and cleaned my self of my own blood. I felt exhausted as my adrenaline finally wore off. I went to my room and laid on my bed and fell into a deep sleep Violette laying in the curve of my stomach.

I awoke in the moring to find Violette gone. I walked into the living room and saw a note on the couch. We have captured your freinds and family if you wish to see them again you must meet us in Central Park where you found the white egg. Come alone and don't tell the police because if you do they all die. There was nothing else on the note I sighed and headed out the main door on the building and began my walk to Central Park.
