My parents and little sister seemed worried about Violette and I's condition but I knew that my dragon wing would need to heal. I had shown my powers on national television like a total idiot but I didn't have anyother choice with one of my wings being broken. I sighed my mother still nagging at me while Violette was sleeping in my room. My wing ached terribly while I sat there with my mother still yelling at me. Eventually Mickayla walked into the room and ran over to me and hugged me "I missed you," she said sleepily. "I missed you too," I said with a tear in my eye. There was a nock on the door and I quickly hid myself in the bathroom as my father answered it.

A man in a military uniform with black hair and a kind smile on his face stood in the doorway "May I come in," he asked. "Of course," was my fathers answer. I peeped out a crack inbetween the door and door frame. "My names General Thomas," he said as he entered our home. "I'm looking for Jacob Maverick," he said as he walked in. "Has Jacob done something wrong?" Mickayla asked inocently. "No I just want to talk to him about the dragon thing," the seargent said to her gently. I sighed and walked out "Theres not much to talk about General," I said to him. His mouth made an "O" shape as he saw my wings on my back which almost touched the ceiling. "I just wanted to ask a few questions," he said getting his act together. "If you ask me you ask my family and that includes Violette," I said to him making my terms clear. He nodded and sat at our dinner table as I went to get Violette.

When I came back Violette was on my shoulder and everyone was gathered around our little table. General Thomas was ready to ask the questions "First question how did you get these abilities?" I thought for a moment thinking of how to reply "It was a gift from Violettes parents," I replied simply. "Next question how long have you had these abilities?" he asked looking at me curiosly. "For a month at least," I replied sincerly. "Final question what are your abilities?" he asked this one looking me in the eye for any kind of fear. I then went into a bit of a rant about what I was able to do so far and turned my eyes into dragons eyes as proof other than the wings. He looked at Violette and asked a simple question, "How were you able to become that huge dragon and then shrink down to this size?" I fished out the ring in my pocket and told him that if I were to put it on her tail she would be the huge dragon.

He stood up to leave and walked over to the door and said, "Thanks for the info I might pop by later to ask a few more." As soon as he left my phone rang and I walked over to answer it. "Hello this is Jacob speaking," I said to the person on the phone. "Hey Jacob it's Ryan were you really that dragon on TV because if so that was so cool why didn't you tell me you could do that." I sighed and replied quicly "Come to my house tonight and we can talk about it then." I could tell Ryan had already hung up to start packing his bag so he could make his way over to my house.

It had only been at least twenty minutes and Ryan was sweating when he arrived at my house. I was waiting in my room with Violette hiding in my closet so he wouldn't freak out over her. My door burst open as Ryan walked in he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw my broken wing. "Are those real?" he asked excitedly. I grinned and stretched my good wing in reply he grinned back at me. "Wanna see something cool?" I asked him building up a small fire inside my throat. "Sure," he replied. I threw a paper ball in the air and breathed out a small fireball hitting it dead on. "How did you do that?" he asked surprised by my fireball. "Theirs someone I want you to meet but you have to be careful shes a dragon and if you harm her it might be you on fire," I said jokingly. I signaled for Violette to jump onto my shoulder. Ryan looked at her with interest and spoke, "How did you find a dragon?" I thought for a moment before replying. "It's more like she found me even if she was an egg."

Over the next hour we sat there chatting about school my dragon abilities and random stuff. "We should go on the roof so I can see you as a dragon," Ryan stated. I sighed before answering "I wish I could but unfortunetley a broken wing is kind of stopping me." Ryan looked at me sadly before speaking "Maybe someother time then. We ate dinner and went to bed for the night Ryan slept on the couch in the living room. I had to go back to school tomorrow and everyone knew my secret now anyway so I didn't see harm in it.

I woke with my alarm blaring Violette was already on it she turned off the alarm and I walked out to wake Ryan. I went back in my room changed and with Violette on my shoulder and my bag in my hand I felt invincible until I remembered my broken wing which was almost fully healed. Violette Ryan and I headed up to the roof where I slid the ring onto Violettes tail. She was soon a fully grown dragon and we climbed into her hands and she flew us to school where everyone was pointing or staring. She lowered us to the ground and lowered her tail to me. I slid the ring off she shrunk back to her normal form. With her on my shoulder I walked into school wings tucked close to my back.

The day was kind of awkward with my wings out I had a few people feel them which I ignored easily. Some people wanted to pet Violette which she allowed a few times and others were a little frightened of me until they realized I meant no harm. In gym class I had so many people staring because of how much stronger and faster I was. My gym teacher wanted me to prove I could fly but I had to reply quickly "As much as I would love to show you one of them is broken from that little fight Violette and I had with a green dragon." The coach seemed to understand and said "Fine Maverick I understand but once it's healed I want to show me." "Fair enough," I replied.

I was soon home with some help of Violette and her wings when I arrived my mother asked "How was school?" "It was pretty good actually," I replied speaking the truth.
