Rise of the Dragonbloods

Chapter 22

Blake and his friends, Violette, Niko, Tiffany, Mickayla, Blitz, and I were all on the roof, "Why is your sister here," Tiffany asked curiosly. "She's also a half dragon starting today at 5," I said confidently. "Is this true Mickayla," Niko asked her nervously, "If thats what Jacob says then yes," she said rocking on her heels with her hands behind her back. "I spoke to Violettes parents last night. They said Alazars planning the rise of the dragons. I will talk to them again tonight," I said reasuringly, "Otherwise we need to continue our search for Alazar but I will be staying here to help my sister," I said looking at her worriedly. "Then lets get to work," Niko said confidently turning and jumping off the roof before morphing in midair and flying away.  Tiffany followed his lead and the pack took the elevator leaving just Violette, Mickayla, Blitz, and myself on the roof.

It had been an hour and Mickayla suddenly dropped to her knees doubled over in pain, "Jacob it hurts please make it stop big brother please," she begged tears forming in her eyes. I quickly rushed to her side and hugged her as her her transformation began. Her wings grew out of her back causing her shirt to rip to peices and her tail grew out as well ripping her pants. I looked into her eyes to see they had changed to a misty gray and looked reptilian. I changed my eyes to red and let my tail and wings grow out, "We're in this together," I said looking into her eyes as her horns started to appear and her claws grew in. Scales started to appear and her bones began to reshape as the pain worsened, "Your almost done just hold on a little longer," I pleaded with her reaching my breaking point as the tears started to roll down my eyes. Mickaylas tranformation was finished she was laying down tiredly as a light shade of purple dragon. I layed beside her a dragon as well as Violette and Blitz watched Mickayla nervously.

I heard someone whisper my name and I lifted my head to look at Mickayla who was trying to get to her feet. "Steady," I said as I slowly got up on two legs. She slowly got up on four legs before trying to switch to two legs unsuccesfully. She almost fell sideways but I helped her back to four legs, "Standing on two legs takes some practice for now just use four and I'll teach you how to fight like that," I said switching to four legs. Mickayla was an eager learner and she learned quickly. I had taught her almost everything I knew. In the middle of helping her improve her flying a black dragon with golden eyes appeared out of nowhere and tackled me in midair. We fell to the ground with a tremendous crash, "It's good to see you again Jacob," he said looking me directly in the eyes. I quickly spat fire barely missing him as he moved his head out of the way. "Join me and I won't harm your friends or family," he insisted. "Never," I spat back at him venom in my voice. "Viotlette get your ring and tell Blitz to get Mickayla away from Alazar quick," I said sending the message through our link. Violette sent back a quick okay in response and I turned my attention back to the battle. Alazar took his teeth and bit down on my throat making me roar as they begin to cut through my the scales on my neck. There was a flash of purple as my sister hit him head on slashing her claws at him as she went. I slowly got up and looked over to see my sister attacking Alazar but he quickly retaliated and slashed at her face barely missing. I got up on two feet and ran at him roaring. Our hands locked as we fought snapping at each other trying to score a blow. I could hear Violette and Blitz approaching while I was distracted he managed to get a grip on my throat and held on tightly. I could feel him begin to cut into my neck once more. My sister had snuck up behind him and now had his neck in her claws. "If you don't let go of me I'll rip out your brothers throat," he warned keeping  his teeth over my neck as he spoke. While he was talking I managed to free one of my hands from his grip and slash it across his face scratching one of his eyes. He roared angrily as blood streaked down his face I felt his teeth puncture my throat I freed my other hand and grabbed onto his jaws pulling them apart, "Now MIckayla finish him," I managed to gasp out. She nodded and looked away before slashing her claws across his throat. I could feel blood streaking down my neck as the wound in my neck began to bleed fiercely. I couldn't morph back in fear that it would kill me.

I stretched my wings and took off as the blood began to gush out even faster. I quickly flew back with MIickayla right behind me I landed on the roof with Mickayla right behind me. I tried to speak but I couldn't say anything with my throat cut up. Mickayla quickly morphed back and put on some clothes before taking the elevator down to our floor to get our parents. My vision began to blur as I laid down the lack of oxygen and blood allowing for death to make its silent approach. I heard the elevator ding and my mother come rushing out of it with my father right behind her. "Where is the bite?" she asked hurriedly. I managed to point to the spot where Alazar had managed to bite me. She gasped before pulling out bandages and beginning to wrap them around my neck. I held on not wanting to embrace death with Violette watching in horror. I nudged my dad with my tail and pointed over to Violette he nodded in understanding before walking over to her and taking her back to our apartment. My eyes began to drift shut no matter how hard I tried to fight they would quickly begin to close again. I lost the battle as they closed again and darkness consumed me.

I opened my eyes and stood up realizing I was still a dragon and looked at Violettes parents who seemed shocked to see me as a dragon. "Why are you here as a dragon?" Violettes mother asked curiosly. "I fell asleep as a dragon and I came to inform you Alazar is dead and unfortuneatley I'm facing death now," I said realizing I was unharmed in Violettes parent presence. "What is the wound?" Violettes father asked. "He was able to bite into my neck," I answered sadly. "We could heal you this once but you might lose the ability to talk," Violettes mother warned. "I understand I'd rather be mute and unable to talk than dead and unable to protect Violette," I said bravely. "When you wake your wound will be healed, but before you go we must warn you that the final battle is approaching  and when you face it you may lose one thing for another," Violettes mother said looking me in the eyes. "What might I lose?" I asked. "That is for you to find out when the battle occurs," Violettes father said. I closed my eyes ready to awaken from my sleep.
