Rise of the Dragonbloods

Chapter 4 Training

My family had left and Violette was left with me to be in my care. I was still a dragon but it didn't matter because I had Violette with me. 'Jacob if you want to change back I think I can help.' I heard Violette say through our link. 'How?' I asked. 'Well try picturing yourself and focus on that image.' I did as she instructed and I felt myself morph back. I was on the floor naked but I was back to normal I tapped on the glass window for a bit before a guard came up and realized what I wanted. He came back a minute later and gave me some clothes which I gladly took and put on. After I was dressed Violette took her place on my shoulder.

After a little bit of waiting a man came in with a black ring in his hand. "I need you to put this on your wrist," he stated calmly handing me the black ring. I slid it onto my wrist but nothing happened so I just assumed it was a tracker or something. He pulled out a second smaller ring which I assumed would be given to Violette and I was right. He went to put it on her neck but she puffed smoke at him. "I'll put it on Violette but first what do they do," I asked the man. He sighed before answering, "They limit the wearers power so they can't use a power over the set limit." I reached up to Violette who reluctantly let me slip it onto her neck.

He led us out of the room as we made our way down the hallway I saw more and more dragons all kept in rooms like mine. Some looked up at me and Violette others would just lie there and act like it was the end of the world. A few of the Dragons would be trying to break out of their cells using fire or their claws. We continued down the hallway Violette keeping close to me I watched the man leading us carefully. We soon arrived at an elevator we got in the guard pushed a button and we headed down even deeper into the earth.

When we arrived I saw Violette tense up and I had to grab her so she wouldn't jump at whatever she sensed. 'What is it?' I asked through our link. 'Vampire maybe werewolf I can't tell.' she said back cautiously I was ready to throw myself if they proved to be a foe. When we arrived on our floor I followed the guard to a wide room with nothing in it. It was bright inside I walked in to have the door close behind me I continued facing forward and watched as a panel opened and a figure with red humanoid eyes stepped out. He suddenly charged punching me in the gut and I was sent flying into a wall.

Violette was flying around the room and occasionally nipping at the man. He was able to hit her and she was sent flying into a wall before she fell to the floor unmoving. I felt my blood boil and the change begin but the band restricted it the best I could do was the claws and eyes. I slashed at him cutting his arm I slashed again and again continuously inflicting injuries on my enemy. He kept healing and I kept hitting him again and again. I eventually began to grow tired my attacks weakened and my opponent sensed this because he revealed fangs and leapt at me. I was tackled to the ground but I was able to use my legs and send him flying off of me. He hit the wall with a thud I got up and grabbed him by the neck I was about to smash my free fist into his face when he bit into my wrist with razor sharp fangs. I was about to let go but I instead smashed my fist into his face I heard bones crack and the fangs were ripped out of my skin with a sickening "PLOP."

I turned to see the man I had just punched had gotten back up and he was ready for one heck of a fight. I knew I didn't stand a chance but I had to at least hold out long enough for Violette to get back up. He charged me agian I lifted my claws in time to see them stab him in the chest. 'Jacob he's a vampire you have to take off his head or rip out his heart.' I heard Violette say to me through our link. I looked at the burn on my arm and felt a surge of energy. I grabbed his throat and used my other hand to grab his heart from his chest. I was about to grab his heart when I felt my strength falter I dropped to my knees I saw blood dripping from my arm where the vampire had bitten me earlier. I fell to my side and felt the vampires breath on my throat. "I would drink your blood but maybe I should drink your little friends first," he said pointing towards Violette who was barely concious on the ground.

That was the last straw I felt my body begin to morph and the black ring break off of my wrist. I was standing over him a dragon on its hind legs he jumped up onto my neck and I felt him try to bite through my scales with no success. I grabbed him with one of my clawed hands and used the other to rip out his unbeating heart he looked at me no fear in his eyes. I dropped him and I fell to my side tired and close to death. I heard the door open and men rush in someone picked up Violette. I don't know how I was moved but I'm pretty sure however they did it it was frustrating.

I awoke in what appeared to be an infirmary I tried to get up only to realize I was strapped to a table. I looked around trying to find where Violette was but she was nowhere to be found. I heard a door open and looked over to see a female nurse or doctor walk into the room. She looked over in my direction and realized I was awake "Oh your awake," she exclaimed and came over to unstrap me from the table. I sat up and asked the nurse how long I had been out, "An hour," she replied before walking away for a minute and coming back with some clean clothes. I put on the clothes and she led me to my room where a very stressed out Violette was waiting.

When I walked in she looked up at me and jumped on my shoulder "It's good to see your okay," I said looking into her beautiful purple eyes. She asked me what happened because when she did come through she saw me on the ground unconscious. I replied to her two words,"Blood loss." She nodded before jumping down onto my bed and laying there. I soon layed down with her and took a nap.

I woke to someone opening the door "Get up you've got more training to do," said the man. I looked up to see the blonde haired guard from yesterday. I sighed and woke Viollete she climbed up on my shoulder and we made our way back to the training area. I trained day in day out perfecting my abilities while Violette worked on her own training of perfecting her aerial abilities.
