Chapter 2 My parents meet a Dragon

I had just arrived at school when I saw Ryan I began to walked over and shouted a "Hey," he nodded in response. "Ready for another beautiful day in the big apple?" I asked him. "Yep," he answered. We talked for a bit before heading inside I threw my backpack in my locker to hear a slight growl. "Oh no she didn't" I thought to myself. I unzipped my bag enough to see to purple eyes looking up at me I sighed and quickly picked up my bag and walked back outside. Once I was outside I went into a nearby alley and opened my bag "Violette you can come out now it's fine no ones here but me," I said speaking softly trying to calm her.

She poked out her head and looked at me with her purple eyes. "Violette your not in trouble I just wanted to tell you I was sorry for throwing my book bag in my locker. I just need you to stay in my bag until after school I'll grab my bag and we can go back home," I said as she nodded and stuck her head back into my bag. This time I carefully put my bag in my locker and made my way to homeroom.

School had gone by slowly but when the final bell rang I jumped out of my seat and out the door to get my backpack so I could go pick up Mickayla from her school. I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder I went out the front door and made my way to Mickayla's school. When I got there I found her waiting for me, "Mickayla," I called. She looked in my direction and ran toward me she gave me a big hug. "Come on when we get home I want to show you something," I whispered to her quietly.

When we arrived at home I told Mickayla to wait outside my room for a minute. I walked in and set down my backpack. "You can come out Violette we're back in my room," I said quietly not wanting Mickayla to overhear me. She slipped out of my bag quickly and looked at me, "Did you want to talk to me about something?" she asked. "My sister knows I found the egg and eventually she's going to ask what happened to the egg or can I see the egg so I thought I would introduce you to her if thats ok with you," I said to her. "I have a better idea how about you introduce me to your mom, dad, and little sister tonight," she said thoughtfully. "Violette you are a genius," I said almost yelling before stepping out and telling Mickayla that I'll show her later.

I waited till dinner when everyone was seated for me to introduce her "Mom Dad Mickayla can I please show you something?" I asked politely. I walked over to my room and had Violette crawl up my arm onto my shoulder. I walked out and heard my mother gasp, my sister looked at Violette intrigued, and my dad was expressionless. "This is Violette," I said introducing her. "Her eyes are gorgeous," my mother exclaimed. "I'm sorry if I frighten you," Violette said nervously. My mother slowly stood up and walked over to Violette and I "Can I....." she said and Violette who was perched on my shoulder stretched out her neck and let my mother pet her. "Is she allowed to stay here," I asked looking at both my mother and father. "I don't see why not," my father said looking over at my mother who was nodding in agreement.

Dineer went on pretty calmly but at one point Violette nudged me "Need something Violette?" I asked. "Nevermind we can talk about it later," she said. "I'm going to bed you coming with me Violette," I asked and she knew I wanted to talk to her alone. "Night," everyone called after me I quickly replied with a "Night" of my own before letting Violette crawl onto my bed. "So what did you want to talk about," I asked her. "Well if I burn a mark onto your arm I will be able to talk to you through our minds," she said slowly. "We can do it on the weekend just in case, that and I'd have to check with my parents. I fell asleep rather quickly that night I enjoyed every last minute of sleep I could get.

I went through the same routine each day and it was finally Friday and I was planning on asking my mom and dad about what Violette and I had discussed Monday night. "Mom Dad can Violette and I talk to you for a minute?" I asked nervous of what they would say about Violette's idea. I had finished explaining her idea to them my mother looked worried about what would happen. Finally they answered "It's ok with us and we're here for you." "Thanks," I replied with smile.

Violette had me lay on my bed and keep my right hand out towards her. "Ready," she asked me nervously. "Ready," I said in reply. She wrapped herself around my arm and held on I could feel the heat against my skin the temperature increased rapidly I tried not to scream but the pain became to intense. My parents came bursting into my room my father was about to pull Violette off my arm when mom stopped him. "No just wait a bit longer Jacob it's almost over," I heard Violette say I withstood the rest of the pain when it finally withdrew I let out a small sigh of relief. My vision blurred and I was about to fall unconscious when Violette slapped my face with her tail I sat up quickly. I looked down at my arm to see what looked like a tattoo of a dragon wrapped around my arm I grinned when I looked at it. I looked at Violette who was looking at me worriedly, "I'm okay," I told her she seemed to calm down a bit at this. We fell asleep in my bed I loved having Violette around she makes my family seem a bit closer.

When I woke up next morning something felt off I looked down where Violette was when I fell asleep last night. She was gone I got up and headed out of my room and into the living room she was looking out the window. "You okay?" I asked her as I approached her. "I'm fine just tired," she replied. I picked her up and she curled up against me I layed back in my bed and fell asleep.

I awoke in a room where one black and one white dragon stood in front of me. The black dragon on the left had red eyes while the white dragon on the right had purple eyes just like Violette. The black dragon on the left spoke first, "What is your name," he asked. "My name is Jacob," I replied to him. He looked at me for a moment before the white dragon on the right spoke, "You are the human we have chosen to protect our daughter you can either choose to back down or you can accept the duty," she said. I didn't even hestitate "I swear on my life that I will protect you daughter or die trying," I meant every word I had said to them. The black dragon on the left spoke, "I beleive you and I will now bestow upon you a gift," he lowered his head to me and roared I half expected to go flying across the room. The dragon on the left looked at me I heard her say "Thank you," before I awoke in my bed.

I slowly sat up and looked down at Violette who was sleeping I was about to get up when she woke with a start I picked her up and placed her on my shoulder ready to relax.
