Chapter Twenty: I Hate This Bitch

After seeing most of the repairs David had to do on the Empire State Building made me start thinking of my promise I had to the little girl named Angela. I decided the next day I would go visit her. I took a shower, got in my pj's, braided my hair, and finally went to sleep.
Soon as I went to sleep, I had a dream.

I was in a build a bear workshop. It was full of little kids, especially girls, and workers making the customers happy. I pulled my hoodie up. I had my gun in my boot, which I was grateful for because I didn't know what was about to go down, but I knew something was. I started walking around the shop; down the aisles of bunnies, dogs and kitty cats. I was on alert; looking for someone to jump out of nowhere for an attack -- particularly Brianna.
Come on, where are you I know your here.
"HELLO! PEOPLE OF NEW YORK! Children! Boys and girls! Mothers and fathers! Here to pick up a stuffed comfort animal, eh?" Brianna was swinging on a pole, that, I believe was supposed to be a chimney for a house thing or something. She had on her wicked smile and was ready for blood as usual. People started running for the doors.
"Oh that won't work, you see, NO ONE is getting out alive. NO ONE" Brianna got out her gun and started firing aimlessly. She was laughing maniacally as parents, particularly mothers, ran for cover with their kids. I ran to the doors ducking and trying my best for Brianna to not spot me. The doors were locked with a padlock and chains. I took out my handy dandy bobby pin, broke it and picked at the lock. Shots were being fired all around me, and I tried to use my superhuman hearing to make sure Brianna didn't spot me. All around me the screams and the promises from parents to their kids about them staying safe were lowered, and all I focused on was picking the lock and Brianna's voice. Mostly it was laughing and yelling. Finally she took a sharp breath, right when I finally broke the door open.
"Alice" I heard her whisper, as she kept shooting.
"ALICE!" She said, "WELCOME TO THE PARTY!"
I looked back and saw Brianna holding up her gun and smiling her crooked smile. Then she frowned and yelled at her men to catch me injured or not.
"YOU CALL THIS A PARTY, YOU PSYCHOPATH!" I yelled as I shot her in the eye or the cataract... whatever you call that metal robotic thing.
She stumbled back and gritted her teeth angrily at me.
"HEY!" I yelled at the civilians, "THE DOOR IS OPEN! GET OUT OF HERE!" As soon as I said that, shots fired and my feet and passed my face, as I started making a run for it. I took cover by a toppled over table. Bullets came flying. Civilians sprinted towards the door. I was squished between terrified warm bodies. Bullets were flying by as I shoved people towards the door and grabbed little ones arms to help them up. I broke out of the crowd and was vulnerable. As soon as we separated a line of bullets were flying by my face and trailing behind me. I sprinted to take cover behind a knocked over table. I knew I had to get close to Brianna. I had to leave the comfort of my wooden table soon. Bullets were hitting my wooden shield and some even went through it. My wooden table wouldn't last long. I grabbed my pistol and jolted up from behind it. I hit every target I had my eye on within thirty seconds. Which was the longest thirty seconds of my life. I could hear Brianna screaming in blinded rage as her men laid on the ground dead. I flipped the table and tan towards Brianna. More bullets chased behind me as I ran. All of the sudden the bullets stopped. I heard the fidgeting of a machine gun out of anger. Brianna screamed with rage and I knew -- she was out of bullets.
I hate this bitch so much. I climbed up the stairs three at a time to where she was at. When I finally got there she looked at me. Blood was gushing out of her eye. She was angry. She started sprinting towards me. I sprinted towards her and form that point on everything seemed to go so slow. I brought out my pistol and was ready to shoot. Then I heard a voice.
"ALICE! ALICE WAKE UP!"
Aiden.

My eyes shot open and I gasped for air. I clutched my chest. My breathing was heavy. Aiden put his hand on the small of my back and asked "Are you alright?"
"Yeah" I paused for breath "fine."
"Did you-"
"Go to places at once? Yeah."
"I thought so. Where were you this time?"
Before I got to answer, David came rushing in, " You guys have got to turn on the TV."
David was catching his breath from running down flight of stairs. His eyes were wide open in surprise.
Aiden turned on the TV. The news came on showing the build a bear workshop. Brianna was no where to be found. A blonde reporter came on the screen, "Good evening, I'm Rebecca Porter with your twenty-four hour news. We're here at Build-A-Bear workshop where Crazy Bri was just at along with a mysterious young woman that we've known to call Ghost Girl and to civilans she's a hero. Here are some eyewitnesses to tell the story and one who claims to have seen her face" she passed the mike to a woman.
"I was just here with my daughter getting her a pink cat, and this Crazy Bri was swinging on a pole. We all went for the door but it was locked and chained. When we figured that out we all went for cover. Until this young woman, maybe 16 or 17? She had black hair, one icy blue eye, and one bright green eye, and a scar across her going in a diagonal direction through her eye. She has pale skin too. But, back to the story, she unlocked the door and told us to get out of here. That was after Crazy Bri said something, I forgot what it was because I was running for the door, but she saved my life. Without her I don't think me or Katie would've made it out" the mother stroked her daughter's hair and pulled her close with her trembling hand. She was probably still in shock. Rebecca took the mike and put it in a man's face who told the story in a very detailed way. He told her exactly what had happened. Around the see there was people getting help for their wounds, and ambulances took others to the hospital because their wounds were too fatal.
"Well there you have it, this Ghost Girl seems to be the new superhero of New York. Multiple surveillance cameras have caught the Ghost Girl's face, sketch artists have drawn out her face by eyewitnesses, and some have even met her. No one knows her name, but everyone wants to figure it out."
"You've got to be kidding me? Ghost Girl? Why are these names so awfully cheesy?" I asked.
"You're portrayed as hero at least!" David says.
"Yeah, but the media is all over this and once you're involved with the media -- they'll have your face everywhere. We've got to be careful, someone might figure out who we are and blow our cover of keeping a low profile" Aiden said. And he was right.
"I know" I said "That's why every time I go out I have to keep my face hidden. I've been doing it a long time so nothing's new."
"Well Ghost Girl, you want some breakfast?" Aiden says with a little smirk.
"Oh please, do not call me that" I crossed my arms.
"Well do you want breakfast or not?" He asked.
"Of course I want breakfast" I said "let's go."
Aiden opened up the door before I got there and motioned his hand for me to walk through "After you my Ghost Girl."
"This is going to be a thing isn't it?" I asked; annoyed.
"Possibly." Aiden replied.
"He's going to make fun of you for the rest of your life" David said.

Brianna POV:
I found myself on the grate-like floor and I pulled myself up.
"Madam, news broadcast and police are here -- we need to leave" said George; one of my men.
I grunted "Alice... WHERE'S ALICE?!"
"Madam, she just vanished. I have no idea--"
"The gene... DAMNIT!" I banged my fist on the floor.
"I ALMOST HAD HER!"
"We need leave, Madam, now" George said.
"I'll find you, Alice" me and what was left of my men left the scene as police barged in holding guns.
