Chapter Twenty-Six: Together Until The End

           David kept everyone at bay for a while, with all his traps, and guns, and gadgets. I jumped into the helicopter with Aiden and Peggy.
"Where's David?" Peggy asked.
"He's --" gunshots interrupted me and I saw David run out of the building.
" -- right there" I finished.
David jumped into the helicopter and flew us out of there. Aiden and I kept Brianna's men occupied. Peggy just sat in between us in the middle of all the action. She ducked in between us from time to time. I hadn't teached her much about how to shoot, she only knows close range. I thought we were doing pretty good, until I felt a strong force hit the tail of the helicopter, and the alarms started going crazy. We were spinning out of control. The tail was on fire and Peggy was holding on the the sides of the seat and looked wide eyed.
"Peggy, Peggy look at me" she looked straight into my eyes, "You're going to be okay. You'll be alright you here me?"
She nodded in response and I started to take her seatbelt off.
"W-wh- what are you d-doing?" She stuttered.
"We're going to have to jump. Don't freak out you'll be fine, I promise" i said calmly.
She exhaled, "okay."
I grabbed the box that said parachutes. I ripped it open and found only two parachutes.
"There's four of us, only two para--" I looked at them and realized that the two parachutes held two people.
Oh thank God, I thought as I gave one to Aiden and the other to David.
"They hold two people!" I explained to Aiden. He nodded, put it on, and grabbed me.
I wanted to go with Peggy but since we only had a few seconds to drop I didn't complain.
I strapped on with Aiden, and Peggy was strapped onto David. She looked so scared. David tried his best to calm her down.
David and Peggy jumped out first. They went our fast and over the plane. I always imagined they would be floating next to you but I guess not.
Aiden I jumped next. I felt the wind go against me, and I knew I was going down but I thought I was floating. I heard Peggy scream for a little bit, and I heard the helicopter crash. In a few seconds, I caught a glimpse of Brianna. She was smiling. She clearly saw us. I was puzzled at the fact she was smiling.
Then Aiden pulled the string. And we were slowly drifting down to the ground.
Brianna has something up her sleeve and I know it. She saw Peggy.... does she know?
We all landed on the ground safely, but as soon as he took the parachute off, I turned around.
"Aiden, we're not safe. Brianna -- she was smiling. Obviously she thinks she won. She has something up her sleeve Aiden. I don't know what but I believe it has something to do with Peggy. I went into my out of body experience thing and I was with Peggy. I wouldn't have been near her if something was important," during all of the conversation I put my hands on his face, and they gently slid down to his shoulders -- close to his neck.
I looked him in the eyes "I think she's after Peggy."
His dark eyes were piercing into mine and I could hear my heart in my head.
What's going on? Stop that, I thought but I couldn't control myself. I couldn't keep my heart under control. I had no idea what was going on.
"Hey guys! Sorry to ruin the moment but we got some company!" David said. I looked over to where he was pointing at and I saw Brianna's men running down to kill us.
Aiden took my hands in his, "Peggy is going to be okay. I'll make sure of that. As for right now, let's get out of here while we can."
Aiden held my hand as we ran. He wouldn't let it go. I thought that it would be faster if we let go, but we didn't want to.
We ran through the woods all four of us, together, until we found the highway.
"Have you guys ever stole a car?" Peggy asked.
"Uhhh..... no." David said.
"Yep" me and Aiden said in unsion.
But the idea crash landed once a bomb dropped over the highway and all of us we covered in ash.
Safe, but we were coughing up a storm. Innocent people laid on the road in their cars. Some survived, but for some they're injuries were sevier.
I opened my eyes and Aiden was there hovering over me to keep me protected. He held me so close to his chest I could hear his heartbeat.
It was so fast.
Ba bump ba bump ba bump ba bump ba bump ba bump.
He loosened his hold on me, and looked over his shoulder. I looked up and looked all around.
"PEGGY!!!" I screamed. There was some ringing in my ear but it went away quickly. I got up and saw David. He was laying on the ground with something stuck in his chest.
"No. No, no, no, no, no!" I ran over to him, "David, David!" I lifted him up. He looked at me with blood all over his mouth.
"Th-they took her. I tri-tried to keep them away from her the b-best I-I could, but they t-to-took her. I-I'm sorry" David said. He was stuttering in pain.
"You did well. You're going to be okay. Everything's going to alright. You'll be fine" I had misty eyes. I knew he was dying. I knew it was inevitable but I had to try something.
"Aiden! Is there a first aid kit! Anything! Please!" I looked at him. And he just stared at David with the look of pain. He knew.
"Aiden, Aiden please, c'mon" I pleaded. He looked at me and shook his head. I inhaled and I looked back at David.
He smiled with blood on his teeth, "A-at le-least I-I go out with a b-bang, am I ri-right?"
Aiden fell to Dvaid's side.
"I-It was f-fun being b-ba-badass" he stuttered to Aiden.
"You crazy clown. You're about to leave me and you crack a joke?" Aiden said.
David smiled, "I w-was alw-ways so-so bad at j-jokes."  The light dimmed in his eyes and he stopped moving.
"David? David?" Aiden started shedding some tears. And he wasn't the only one.
"Aiden we need to go. Well take David with us and give him a proper funeral" I said as I closed his eyes.
"Come on" I urged Aiden. David became skinnier since he had been stuck inside his security room so it made it easier for Aiden to carry him. We bring him to secluded lake. Aiden and I had found a canoe there. We laid David down, and used his lighter to set fire to the canoe. Aiden pushed it off with a stick, "We had a good run."
I took Aiden's hand and we watched the fire consume the canoe as it sailed across the lake.
"Together until the end" Aiden said.
In this moment, I knew I was going to kill Brianna. I wanted to make sure she paid for what she did. I wanted to make her suffer.
She took Peggy from me. Fa from me. My family from me. And now David.
She. Will. Pay.
