Lance and Keith were lying in the blue-eyed boy's bed, the thunder and soft crying were what could be heard that night from the boy's bedroom. Lance was softly crying in his partner's arms.
This happened a lot, at least once a month. That was a lot too much Keith's standards. Usually, both boys wouldn't say a thing, except the occasional 'i'm sorry' or 'thank you' from the blue-eyed boy. It worried Keith, but when he tried to talk about it, Lance would change to a different subject.
All the raven-haired boy could do was hold him gently, and pet his brown hair. "I'm scar-- I-I-I'm scared," the lanky boy said quietly through choked out sobs. Keith looked down at him, only to see that the blue-eyed boy had turned his head away from his.
"Why are you scared, Lance?" The indigo-eyed boy asked softly, his voice smooth and calm. "I-I'm scared... you-you-you're going t-to ge-ge-get tired o-o-of me," the lanky boy confessed, tears wetting Keith's t-shirt.
The raven-haired boy's heart squeezed in pain, Lance's words puncturing him like a knife. "W-Why would I get tired of you? Don't say that, Lance..." Keith's brows knitted together as he told the Cuban boy.
Lance sniffled unattractively, "B-Bec-because everyone for-for-forgets me..." Another heartbreak erupted in Keith, and he held onto his lover tighter. "Oh, Lance," Keith muttered, kissing Lance's soft, light brown hair.
The Cuban boy wrapped his arms around the raven-haired boy's waist and cried into his chest, terrified of what will become of him and his future. Everyone would soon get tired of him, Lance knew. It pained him so much when the thought would rise at night. The blue-eyed boy couldn't fight his demons alone, but as much as he tried to fight them alone, he always went back to Keith.
The raven-haired boy was Lance's lifeline and had helped the lanky boy so much more than he could ever imagine. "Lance, I'll never get tired of you. You know that... I won't forget you, either. I promise I'll always be here for you," Keith tried to comfort him. The raven-haired boy never really got comforted himself, so he just said the things he thought would make Lance happy.
And it cheered the blue-eyed boy up a little. "Than-Thank you, Keith," Lance's words faltered as he sighed a shaky breath afterward. "We're going to be okay. We just have to stick together. And I'll... Stick by your side until you forget me," the raven-haired boy joked, chuckling. A small smile crept up on Lance's lips as he snaked his arms around the indigo-eyed boy's neck.
"I'll never forget you," Lance mumbled, his hot breath tickling the raven-haired boy's neck ever so slightly. "I thought you were sad," Keith smirked softly. "You cheered me up, though... So, Thank you," The Cuban boy's voice cracked slightly. The younger boy hugged Lance tighter, "I'll always be here for you. You know that." "Don't jinx yourself," The older boy responded, returning the hug with just as much strength and love.
(507 words! A semi-sad one but I'm trying to get through some stuff and writing sad things like this helps. Anyway, I hope the next chapter for tomorrow is going to be better and longer, depends on my mood... -Julian)
