For the past few months, Keith had been acting strangely near Lance. The raven-haired boy knew he had developed a crush and with Lance's flirting, he melted every time Lance was close to him. Lance, on the other hand, really wanted to get close to Keith. He had a crush on the younger boy and wanted to learn more about him.
The whole gang were out at the park, having a picnic at Hunk's request. Shiro and Allura were walking near the tree line, talking and laughing together. Pidge, Hunk, and Keith were on the picnic blanket, talking and cloud gazing. And Lance was sitting alone near the river, close to the bridge. The blue-eyed boy was just thinking.
Pidge noticed that Lance was alone, "hey guys... Want to go over there with Lance?" "I'm alright, he looks asleep," Keith said, too scared to go near Lance. He didn't want to make a fool of himself. "Sure... But Keith'll have to come too," Hunk smiled over at the pale boy.
The ravenette pulled his beanie over his eyes, "ugh fine.." "Great," Pidge cheered, standing. The two stood, Keith situating his beanie back to look okay. The trio walked over to Lance, and all sat down next to him.
"Uh, hey guys," Lance said, looking at Keith who had sat beside him. The indigo-eyed boy had his knees pulled up to his chin, his head resting on his kneecaps. Lance found it a little adorable..
"Hey, Lance, what're you doing all alone?" Pidge asked, slinging an arm around him. "Ah, oh, I'm just thinking," the blue-eyed boy said, smiling at the small girl. "It's a pretty day to think, hm?" Hunk said, eating a cookie he had brought with him.
"Yeah," Lance responded. "Pidge! Come here!" Allura called, next to Shiro. They had walked away from the tree line and now near the river. It looked like Shiro had dropped his phone in the water.
"Come on, Hunk," Pidge said, standing and jogging over to the duo. "Cya later, Lance," Hunk patted the brunette on the back before getting up and following Pidge. After they had left, Lance sighed.
"Are you going to go too?" The blue-eyed boy asked, looking at the quiet, pale boy. "No," Keith responded, blushing lightly. "That beanie looks good on you," Lance said while cracking his signature shit-eating grin.
Keith blushed deeply, "t-thanks." Keith had a gray beanie with a green alien on the side. "You've been acting so weird around me these past few months. Do you have something to say? Something that's on your mind?" The Cuban boy asked.
"Oh... I guess I've just been out of it," Keith replied softly. "Oh? Cause you act fine with the others, I was just wondering if it was something wrong that had to do with me," Lance muttered. Keith didn't really get what he was saying, but at the same time did. "S-Sorry, I've just been confused these past few months," Keith replied, not wanting to upset the Spanish-speaking boy.
"About what? You can always talk to me," the blue-eyed boy shifted to fully face the pale boy. Keith blushed, looking toward the river, "I-- ...." "Just spit it out," Lance said, being very impatient.
"Ireallyreallylikeyouijustdontwanttomakeafoolofmyself!" Keith said at full speed, yet Lance could make out every word. "You have a crush on lil' ol' me?" The Cuban boy grinned, a blush dusting his cheeks.
"Y-Yeah, I do, okay?" Keith spat out of embarrassment. "Chill out.. I like you too," Lance replied, crossing his legs.
"Y-You do?" The pale boy asked, peering up at him with cheeks as red as a tomato. "Psh, yea! Why do you think I flirt with you?" The Cuban boy only raised a brow cockily. "You f-flirt with everyone," the raven-haired boy stumbled his words.
This was the first time he had ever confessed to someone, and it was actually going quite well. "I guess you have a point, don't you? On a different note, what are we?" The blue-eyed boy asked, placing his elbows on his knees. Lance cupped his hands while resting his chin in them.
"B-Boyfriends? I-I dunno," Keith suggested, flustered about this whole ordeal. "At least take me out on a date," the brunette chimed dramatically.
"Sure, but you're paying," the pale boy remarked, lips tugging into a smile.
