Lance had woken up to roosters screaming outside his window. Well, not screaming, but it sounded like they were. The lanky boy sat up rubbing his eyes.

Lance was spending the summer at Keith's farm, which his small family owned. (Keith's fam is Shiro [half brother] and Shiro's Fiance Allura who practically lived with them. Then they had three horses, two dogs, and are feeding who knows how many stray cats. Keith has counted 25 stray cats so far.)

Lance got dressed in a flannel button-down and jeans, along with boots because Keith had told him 'always wear boots with heels so you don't fall off your horse!' The blue-eyed boy snickered as he went out of his room and down the wooden stairs.

"Keith's outside, want some breakfast?" Shiro said upon seeing the Cuban boy approach the kitchen. "I'm alright," Lance said, "thanks. Is he near the stable?"

"Yea, feeding them," the built man explained to the blue-eyed boy as he got his jacket from a rack. "Mkay, say hi to Allura for me," Lance waved before leaving the house.

The brunette walked as he put on his jacket, approaching his boyfriend. "Hey, Keithy!" "Hey," Keith replied, fixing his cowboy hat. "Ready to go on the trail?"

"Yeah, yet we're racing afterward," the blue-eyed boy snickered as he grabbed a saddle. "Put that down, we're ridin' bareback," the pale boy replied.

Lance had no idea why Keith was pale, even though he spent most of his time in the sun. Probably a lot of sunscreen. "I hate that!!!" The Cuban boy sighed heavily, walking over to Jellyfish.

Lance had re-named Allura's horse Jellyfish. Meanwhile, Keith was already getting on Asher, his horse. Jellyfish was a white stallion, with his stomach being brown. And Asher was a black mare peppered in white spots.

"You just don't like to get thrown off," the raven-haired teen chuckled, watching Lance struggle to get on Jellyfish. "Jelly always throws me off when we ride bareback," the lanky boy replied, finally getting situated. Good thing they had reins because sometimes Keith would tell him to ride without them. And that was impossible.

They started off at a trot, walking the dirt road that went on for half a mile. "So, how'd ya sleep?" Keith asked, his figure bouncing up and down to the mare's steps. "Pretty good," lance responded, holding tightly to the straps of leather.

"We're just walkin' straight, you don't have to hold onto the reigns," the indigo-eyed boy said, crossing his arms like a pro. "Jelly surprises me sometimes," the older boy responded defensively.

Keith just laughed in response, which was rare. "Yeah yeah.." "She does! Ugh, I hate you," the bilingual teen grumped.

"I love you too," Keith smiled broadly as they kept along the trail.
