I could faintly hear footsteps and some loud voices through my loud heartbeat. I was laying on my stomach on the couch. Ryan went to call his brother as I waited for him to check on me.
The pain was more or less bearable now since it was coming and going. I hoped nothing was wrong with my wings. I was this close of having it again, I would not be able to bear another loss.
I clenched my palms as the pain came back with a revenge. I wanted to curl into a ball, but every movement I made, made my back hurt a lot more. I didn't remember that much pain when I was younger! Not even the final growth spurt which came in my sleep.
Later, I felt cold hands touch my back and I looked up to see the reflection of my mate in front of me. The same soothing tone came out of his mouth making me look at him confused. Was he or was he not my mate?
"Keith?" the same voice called me and I turned my head around to meet Ryan's gray eyes... Why was there two Ryan?
"There's two mates!" I giggled happily as I looked back and forth.
"Don't glare at me, the herbs you gave him earlier can sooth and make him numb, but there's a little side effect. Don't worry, he will be back to normal soon," the standing Ryan explained as he took out something.
"What will you give him now?" asked the other Ryan in front of me.
"The same thing mom gave you to drink before your wings have their last grow spurt," the standing Ryan crouched in front of me and tilted my head to the side. "You have to drink Keith," he said before some slipped inside my mouth.
"No!" I turned my head in the other way, "It tastes baaad!"
"Keith, you have to drink it. It'll make you feel better," said the other Ryan as he turned my head back to face the Ryan with the weird drink.
"N-No!" I started to thrash around trying to escape the double mean, Ryans. "Mate is so mean..." I started sobbing.
"Keith, you have to drink it or when the effects of the herbs are gone, you'll be in pain again," explained my mate holding the cup filled with the bad tasting water as he got closer.
I rapidly move forward to kiss him. Weird... Why kissing my mate felt so wrong? I heard something hit the ground as I got pulled away in my other mate arms and I started giggling when I felt the similar tingling sensation.
"That's enough, Keith!" said my mate after he turned me around, so I could face him.
"W-what's... W-wrong..." I struggled to say as my eyelids became more and heavier.

I groaned as I woke up. My head hurt so badly. I lifted my hand to my head when I sat up to try and stop the room from spinning. When it stopped, I slowly looked around to find myself in our bedroom. I was about to stand up when the room starting spinning again, but more furiously. I stumbled and fell back on the bed.
Oh God, I was going to puke.
I tried to walk to the bathroom, but the spinning got worse and in the end, I puked on the floor. I was heaving when I heard someone open the door.
"Keith! Are you okay?" asked Ryan worried as he helped me sat up.
"Water..." I mumbled as the horrid taste of puke still lingered on my tongue.
My mate took me in his arms and carried me back on the bed before filling a glass of water on the nightstand. He slowly gave it to me, so I only made small gulps. But I still managed to choke on it and Ryan was making circles on my back.
"W-what..." I cleared my throat. "What happened?" I asked feeling better.
"Your wings grew back," he simply answered making my wings twitch and move around.
I turned my head around and indeed saw my wings. They were back as if I never lost them. I looked back at my mate smiling and I threw my arms around his neck before kissing him.
My wings were back! They grew back! Everything happened because of Ryan if I didn't meet him or he wasn't my mate... I didn't want to know what would have happened.
Someone then knocked on the door and Zack slowly entered the room.
"Good, I see you're awake," he smiled as he walked toward us.
"I can fly now?" I asked eager and he chuckled.
"Yes, but take it easy, just in case. Does your back hurt?"
"Only a little dizzy and I don't remember anything after collapsing on the ground after I took out the cake..." I mumbled trying to remember something.
Then a picture popped out in my mind. I blushed and hid under the covers.
"What's wrong?" asked Ryan trying to take the covers away, but I held on it not willing to let go.
I didn't do, please tell me I didn't do that!! I didn't kiss my mate's brother... Oh God, please tell me it was a dream... A nightmare!
Somehow they managed to take the covers off me. I didn't dare to look at Zack. I hid my face in my hands and felt so bad about it.
"What's wrong, Keith?" he gently asked already checking my wings and my back.
"I'm..." I inhaled and let everything out. "I'm so sorry I kissed you! I-I thought you were Ryan..." I apologized and dared to look at him.
He gently smiled, "You were under the effects of the medicinal herbs I told Ryan to give you, so I don't blame you. And you won't be the first one to confuse me for my brother."
"I'm sorry Ryan, I didn't mean it," I apologized to my mate.
"Don't worry, about it." he took me in his arms before putting me on his lap. "I'll make you remember tonight, who you really belong to."
