I looked at the map of our lands and our shared borders with the Aquilam Kingdom as I listened to Helena's strategy. She moved the wooden figurines around as she explained everything to the generals, Ryan and myself. As the other voiced their opinion and kept my mouth shut since I didn't know a single thing about war. Well, except fighting. Even there, I wasn't as good as the people in this room. I knew that our Kingdom was vast and resourceful, but not at this extent. If I had to compare the Ignis Kingdom with our enemy, we may have three times more water sources and animal species. But what surprised me the most, was the land. We had at least five times more than them. Now I understood why in my history classes, they never compared our lands with them. It would be too suspicious and people would want to know why there was such an inequality.

"Does anyone have any objection?" asked Helena as I drifted back to what she was saying. I looked up when I noticed that no one said anything, but also didn't move.

Then I realized that they were all looking at me making my hands sweat. Why were they looking at me? Did I had something on my face? When I shook my head, the general's eyes drifted to my mate as he started to talk about politics. To be honest, I didn't even know we had generals of war nor that we had an army. I should pay more attention to my history classes or Ryan will be grumpy and maybe...

I could feel my face go red as dirty thoughts came to my mind. I tried to look as calm and composed as possible since it wasn't the time nor the place.

Soon enough, we were dismissed and I sighed in relief as I let myself fall in the chair just behind me. I could hear Ryan chuckle as he sat beside me.

"Was it that harsh?"

"A little. I didn't know a war council was this... Heavy."

"I saw you spacing out though," he raised an eyebrow making me blush in embarrassment.

"That's not true! I was... I was thinking that's all."

"About?"

"T-That's none of your business!"

"If you can't tell me then it could only be one thing," he smirked evilly making me gulp.

I shouldn't make a habit of telling him everything except sexual things. Now, this! But it was so embarrassing to talk about it.

Without any warning, he attacked my neck startling me. I put my hands on his shoulder and tried, with all my strength, to push him away. But he wouldn't budge a muscle, except for his tongue. I groaned and made the error of tilting my head away. It gave him more space to do whatever he wanted.
