Ryan POV

The full moon was high in the sky as we moved in the shadows. The trees were perfect to cover our silhouettes and shadows caused by the moonlight. We were silent as death since we were using our wings to glide in the air. My small team and I slowly approached the enemy's main entrance of their encampment as the others waited in the shadows for my signal. Once we were almost out of the forest, I lifted up my hand to tell my men to stop.

"Wait here," I whispered to the man behind me before jumping up on the summit of a tree.

Even without any lights, I could clearly see some shadows moving between the tents. I could only count a few dozens of men on duty and most of them were surrounding the biggest tent in the middle. I couldn't see any lights, so I will assume that the Prince was sleeping which I hoped since they would be even more disoriented if they just woke up.

I let myself fall down from the tree top and then informed the messenger about what I saw. He nodded and went to inform the others. Then I turned toward my fighting men and as planned, we will use the night to our advantage. We will stealthily kill them. In groups of two, we separated from each other. Some were assigned to incapacitate the sleeping guards as other were charged to kill those on duties. As for the captain and I, we were making our way toward the Prince's tent. We slowly made our way there and the challenge will only begin with the guards around the Prince quarters.

I took out a dagger from one of my pouches and looked at the man beside me, "You go right, I go left."

He nodded as he took his own weapon. It was easier for my teammate since the guards were facing their back at him. As for me, they were facing me. I took a few steps back and in a matter of seconds, I was already high in the sky. I looked down and saw the captain moving away from a dead body. I switched my hold on my weapons and let myself fall down on a guard. Before my weight heavily hit the man, I threw my dagger at the soldier next to him. The dagger hit him on his neck which incapacitated the man to make a sound.

When I landed on the man's shoulder, the weight was so big that he crumbled down to his knees. Still confused, I switched my dagger to my other hand before using my free one to lift his head up. His neck totally exposed, I slit his throat open. The pain seemed to have brought him back to reality since he started to struggle as he tried to push me off him. With each second that passed, his movement became slower and weaker until he was laying under me unmoving.

I turned to take down the last guard but saw the captain do it instead.

I gave him a nod before saying, "Hide the bodies and if someone intends to come in, eliminate them."

"Yes, Sire."

I gave him one last look and gave him the horn as I mumbled before going into the tent, "Don't die and if you think we may be in trouble, blow on it."

I parted the drape to be able to glance inside. I knew that from the size of the shelter tat it would be pretty big, but I wasn't expecting separations. This made my whole life harder. I carefully took a step in and crouched down. I took out my sword and peeked into the first room on my left. It was an empty living room. At this time, I should check the bedroom. As I silently walked my way in, I found the kitchen, a bathroom and an office. I looked at the end of the hallway and there was only one more room left. That must be it.

I peeked inside and the first thing I saw was the big bed in the middle of the room. There was a huge lump on it. As I approached the bed, a soft snoring could be heard. I stood up and was about to point my blade on the Prince's throat when I saw that there wasn't one person, but two in the bed!

A woman with dark hair, white skin and beige wings was sleeping beside that monster. She didn't have any mating mark on her chest. She wasn't his mate. Anyways, it didn't matter, if she tries to get in my way, I'll kill her too.

I used the point of my sword to push on the Prince's throat. The man jolted awake and looked around before his gaze landed on me. His confusion was replaced by hatred as he slowly sat up. The covers fell into his lap. Seemed like the man was in his baby suit.

"How did you get here?"

"By the front door."

"Guards! Guards!" he shouted making the woman jump awake. I punched the man hard as a cracking sound could be heard. "That fucking hurt, you bastard!" he shouted in pain as he put his hand in front of his broken and bleeding nose.

"Be happy that it was only your nose," I gritted my teeth as I thought at all he did to Keith.

"W-what's h-happening? Who are you?" she asked with fear in her voice making me glance at the naked woman.

"If you don't want to die, step aside," I glared at her making her gulp.

"I r-refuse! Why are you even doing this?"

Was she serious? "You're asking why? That man here came into my Kingdom and nearly killed my mate and my citizens and you are asking why? Are you stupid?" We are at war, little lady.

"How dare you?!" she screeched back.

"I don't have time for you, step aside. This man holds no meaning for you right?" I answered irritated as I put more pressure on the man's throat as he winced.

"I won't let you kill my mate!"

"Mate?" I answered before laughing, but then stopped when I saw her confused gaze. "Wait, you're serious? Then why didn't he mark you?"

"That is because... It isn't your business! But you still can't kill him!"

"He will replace you at any chances he can. If he could exchange you for my mate, he will. You know that right?" I said as I used my feet to turn the man on his back with my sword still on him.

Tears started to fall from her eyes as she looked away. She didn't deny anything, so she must know about it. I took out the roped I had in one of my pouches and strapped the man hands and arms behind his back. I pushed him up and forced some clothes on him before pushing out of the bedroom, but before that, I glanced at the woman one last time.

"I apologize about that, but you will be better off without him."
